“I take Matthew 25 to mean me as an individual, not the U.S. government.”

No, you asshole, it means all of us. A.K.A. we, the people. Ever hear that phrase?

These fucking sanctimonious assholes just piss me off to no end.

The repubs should try feeding 5000 heavily-armed rednecks with a few loaves and fish.

Nevermind the fact that they're just rehashing the exact same arguments they deployed against the New Deal back in the '30s. Turned out fewer Americans starved when the government tried to help back then, and I sure as hell see no reason it'd be any different today.

Is he attempting to challenge the inerrancy of the bible? "The poor will always be with us." "Not if we cut off their food".
