Correct. Medicare's discount reduced the bill by $735 to $349. But I am still appalled that they charged $1084 for such a minor procedure in a doctor's office. They do this by calling it "surgery."

Steroid injections performed in a doctor's office are also called "surgery." I challenged this once when I had such an injection in my heel, but they said it was "surgery" and charged me $500 for the shot. I said "An injection is an injection, no matter what is inside the syringe, so why is a Flu shot or a Tetanus shot in the doctor's office not considered surgery, but a steroid injection is considered surgery? And of course I lost that battle.
