You'd have to live here - Missouri.

Our legislature made us a "right to work" (union banning) state.

We reversed them by initiative process.

They did it again - they reversed us.

We reversed them again.

I wrote a letter published in my local paper, the Richmond (then Daily) News. I said if we didn't like what our Republican legislature kept doing to us maybe we ought to quit re-electing them.

Yes, the paper published it, but - the brilliant people of Ray County, and of Missouri, elected the same motherfuckers again.

Like I said, you'd have to live here. Planet Baptist.

🤦

Hoskins is no doubt a good Christian pedophile.

When they say the voters don’t know what they voted for, implying they are stupid, that got that partially right. Anyone who voted for these lunatics is obviouly so stupid they just keep reelecting the people who lie to them on a constant basis. Those of us who will never vote for one of these hypocritical, lying POS republicans, aren’t stupid and will never fall for their lies and distractions.

I went and read Denny Hoskins’ shit take. Then I went and read the actual law in Missouri’s constitution, in Article 1, Section 36. The simplicity and straightforwardness of that law- literally titled the “Right to Reproductive Freedom Initiative”- is not only excellent lawmaking but gives him the lie & shows how little he thinks of his constituents. It’s embarrassing for him to write that to a group of folks who presumably read that measure on the ballot. Good grief.

So I guess that the "Virginia is for Lovers" slogan prevalent in the 70's still holds true.

"Tennessee is for the Patriarchy" doesn't have the same ring, but is equally correct.

Few Republican arguments weird me out more than citing "parents' rights" as a reason to *prohibit* abortion. In Republicanville, parents have a right to kill their child if the child is a teenager with an ectopic pregnancy, but *not* to "kill" their "child" if the child is an ectopic fetus.

It gets really tricky when the father of the teenager is also the father of the fetus. Sounds like incest. But Christian theology tells us that God is the father of himself, but there's really only one god. I'm not sure where Holy Ghost fits in, but maybe that's Daddy God's mistress. Trinity stuff is crazier than quantum mechanics.

It's been clear, long before Trump, that Republicans do not believe in democracy.

They believe in power. if democracy gives them access to power, they like it. If democracy takes power away from them they hate it. They have utterly no principles. Like Trump and many before him. Decrepit Old Crow McConnell comes to mind.

Ohio and Florida went through similar things. It’s like republicans hate to lose and will ratfuck things whenever they have the power to do it.

This trope about "outsiders" is such bullshit. The Missouri RESIDENTS VOTED for the amendment. These assholes are upset by their own voters but they are still trying to blame "outsiders."
