Apparently the Constitution as we've been living it is a gentleman's agreement with light legal scaffolding, subject to dismantling by the thugs the Russians and the Right installed. With the help of land and money, which vote just like people do.
Basically. The constitution is, in many places, very vaguely worded. While we do have some commentary on what the hell they meant when they wrote that we basically have to have courts decide what was meant and courts change their minds. For the first 200 or so years of the constitution it was generally held that the 2nd amendment did NOT entitle every yahoo who wanted one to have a gun. But that's changed now.
