An estimated 90 million human beings on this planet are currently considered displaced persons: millions of them have been displaced by the changing climate (withering crops and dead livestock: water sources contaminated or drying up: temperatures soaring till they are incompatible with life).
The staggering heat wave that is consuming the European continent is now moving toward Scandinavia and threatens to---as the headline in Stars & Stripes put it---"bake the Arctic."
This isn't fringe loon stuff. Continuing to treat environmental concerns as some sort of silly preoccupation of foolish white leftists with nothing better to do is incredibly irresponsible, even by the standards of the fascist movement that has made David Brooks wealthy and given him a platform.
He's also wrong about race, gender, and abortion, but that's another story for another day.
