I continue to get a kick out of Tea Baggers claiming libruls stuck them with that handle!

First time I read that TBers were self-identifying as such I said to myself "Obviously, those folks don't read Wonkette..."

What is this with M'Naghton and the ex-presidents' band? Last time they looked like a barbershop quartet. Here I'm sure they've just reached "looked over Jordan, and what'd I see?", and Barry's about to do the response "A band of angels, comin' after me".

Ah, a great example of why I still hate the memory of Reagan more than almost any other domestic motherfucker.

I don't think I've grasped your point. (This could be because I've had a couple of pints, but still). I think of myself as a liberal. I disliked Andrew Breitbart because he was a lying asshole who had enough charisma to sell his lies to those willing to believe them. I have sympathy for his family and friends, but on balance I have to admit that I am pleased that he can no longer spout convincing and divisive bullshit. Allegedly, he had a sense of humor, so I -- unlike Alex -- have no problem making fun of his post-mortality.

Regarding the Grand Canyon, the reason that one might feel a sense of shame, or simple annoyance, at a liberal booth hawking Obama tchochkes is that the President -- extraordinary human being that he is -- is not much of a liberal. I base this judgment on the fact that I am to the left of President Obama on, well, everything; while my liberal friends consider me almost suspiciously centrist.

Yes, which is why England went to such great pains to keep New Amsterdam culturally distinct, never sailing any fleets into its undefended harbor or demanding the governor-general change its name.

Or, it could be Pat Buchanan: "Please, please, please - somebody invite me to be on tv today!"

Good ol' Silent Cal, Harvard-educated businessman, Governor of Massachusetts, the exact and total and complete opposite of that garrulous pansy FDR, a Harvard-educated businessman, Governor of liberal New York. Which is in liberal Noo England, you know, so it must be some kinda foreign.
