I wish Putin would stop his global support of far right parties to undermine democracy.https://foreignpolicy.com/2...

It is also wrong to from invade a nation to kill tens of thousands of people.

Both things are wrong.

Putin should stop both.

You should oppose both.

Try decency. It is as good as mouthwash!

That is the word that is used when another country rolls in with tanks and controls a place politically.

Here is the government of Georgia explaining this in English:https://georgiaembassyusa.o...

The Nazis "line up behind" whoever gives them the best advantage.

Pro-Rump? You've replied (and agreed) with many of my posts in the past, you may be confusing me with another poster. I loathed Rump when Clinton was still president, and have been a bleeding heart liberal since I was in grade school in the 1970s. I'm just not blind to history and context.

This article from the time period of the coup outlines some of the players and some of the US's involvement in it, from Huffpost.https://www.huffpost.com/en...

No, there wasn't ethnic cleansing, in part because the majority-Russian eastern provinces revolted, and partly because the fascists didn't have as much popular support as the US originally thought. The rhetoric was very real though, and people were justifiably frightened.

Oh yes, I confused you with Alex because you were indistinguishable.

The rhetoric was very real though, and people were justifiably frightened.

Which you apparently think justifies invading another country, killing tens of thousands of people, and occupying it?

Well, true that the tens of thousands of dead people no longer feel any fear. I can not join you in celebrating that as a win.

Hi, I'll look into it. Sometimes Disqus automatically considers longer posts spam, so if it was a particularly lengthy post, that might have done it.

Also, comments including racial or gender slurs go automatically to moderation. More info here in our comments policy.

I'll check your comment history and let you know what I figure out!

Control of a "part of Georgia" is not the same as control of Georgia, as you alleged. Are you no longer in the mood to discuss Ukraine and decided to switch to Georgia?

Who the frack ever said that was a good thing? I was just supplying context. People seem to think that Russia just does things on a whim and operates in a vacuum, which is of course absurd but we almost never are provided with the context of any event here just the talking points.

OK, that's enough. I've seen that you keep coming back to this thread to try to goad Tina into continuing the argument. Please read the rules, particularly #7.

I'm also going to delete a couple of your more incendiary replies to others.

Please, both of you just block each other. I'd like to leave comments on this thread open until they automatically close in 90 days, but if this argument continues, I will close the comments to end it.

OK, both of you please stop and just block each other. This argument has gone on long enough. Please see item #7 in the rules.

Dude. Stop. Changing "Georgia" to "a part of Russia" is pretty freaking trollish.

No trolling was intended. I meant to say "part of Georgia". Sorry. I agree that the discussion should have been stopped much earlier. Thank you for suggestion to block. Will do next time.

It was long, but I didn't think very long. But maybe Disqus disagrees. And I didn't do any slurs. I don't do that.

Weird, it really wasn't that long, and it was definitely not spam. I've restored it and added you to our "approved" commenter list, which may or may not prevent future posting problems.

Also, certainly didn't intend to suggest you intentionally insulted anyone; sometimes people use them in quotation marks, like "I got called "____" Looks like all is well!

Gee, who would think that a bunch of "cost plus" contracts wouldn't result in fiscal discipline.
