The only proviso is that if Melanie is deported, everything she obtained here stays here. Can't you just see an old, gunny sack virago being returned to Slovenia (not, probably Russia) with size A breasts, a hooked nose, sunken cheeks and a look of puzzlement when she doesn't have to groom the bleached monkey she refers to as D Jerkoff T which was the highlight of her day, aside from smoothing caviar over her nubile dauphine's body (her words, except for nubile and dauphine, not mine). In the future she'll be dressed and shoed by the best farriers in the whole of Slovenia (not, Russia).

Thank you for the information. I had no idea. I'm so sorry that you have been so affected by it. I see my neurologist again in 2 months, I will ask him about it. Again, thank you and I hope you find some relief!

Please indulge this retired CRNR/CRRN, gracious friend. Seek out the opinions of at least 2 neurosurgeons regarding your scoliosis ASAP. I am now profoundly and progressively disabled secondary to scoliosis that my parents didn't seek out treatment for when I was diagnosed at age 13. To make a long, painful, frustrating story short, several specialists have determined the damage too extensive and that that I am NOT a surgical candidate at this point.

Seek out the best medical advice that you can find, love. Pain, neurological damage, physical deformity, and the psycho/social ramifications thereof are making my life an absolute hell. I would do ANYTHING to spare you or anyone else the fucking misery, resentment, rage and frustration I am now experiencing. If you're a good candidate for the procedure, get yourself straightened out! <3

I doubt that Melania (nor Trump) knew that either, but she did have a good immigration lawyer who knew and used the law to her benefit. That said, it's only a matter of time before Stephen Miller drafts an Executive Order seeking to terminate that benefit, but this is a law passed by Congress, so I don't think an Executive Order would be sufficient. Still, I'm amazed (horrified, if truth be told) at what fuckery Trump (through guidance from Bannon and Stephen Miller) and his racist elf Attorney General, and DHS Gestapo have been able to accomplish without a single immigration bill being passed through Congress.

Thank you! That is quite interesting and I did not know it. On the other hand, we know the Trump Administration isn't exactly enthusiastic about always following the law.

It's complicated. If, as reported, she secured her permanent resident status in the Ist preference extraordinary ability employment-based category (actually, much broader than "Nobel Prize winners"), she could avail herself of the protections of Section 245 (k) of the Immigration and Nationality Act, as amended, that would have allowed her to qualify for adjustment of status (from nonimmigrant to immigrant green card holder) despite having up to 180 days (aggregate) of being out of status or unauthorized employment since the date of her last admission to the U.S. Leaving the U.S. can stop the clock, and being readmitted later provides a new 180 day grace period for those adjusting status under one of the employment-based categories. What I've written above is a simplification of a complicated statutory and regulatory scheme.

I know. I was looking at travel details, this morning, and reluctantly decided against it. I have a health issue at the moment. The prospect of four hours on the coach to London before the march even begins, then a massive police operation that could end up with kettling for hours on end just make it unfeasible. Especially when Trump and May will be miles away. What bloody cowards our so-called leaders are.

It is a long day out just to shout profanities at an empty building.

I'm in Edinburgh but I think I'll miss the Glasgow march on Friday because the Mem is in hospital that day, and the Edinburgh march on Saturday because I'll be in Glasgow at a family wedding. Baws.

We should form a club for bitter gimps! I can trip over the crack of dawn. I know they didn't hurt you physically, but they hurt you emotionally, which can hurt more, sometimes. I'd love to march, but my marching days are over; just found out I have arthritis and scoliosis in my spine. So I just wanted to let you know that it's cool you went, and let that be the thing you think about!

Oh that sounds wonderful! In all the years I lived in Canada (the Bush jr years) I never felt like I was in a foreign country, because our cultures are similar, but theirs is (mostly) more polite. Of course I explained that I didn't like Bush either they decided I was 'their' American.

It pays okay if, you are willing to be a traveling nurse and take call, nights, weekends etc. (I never was.)Teaching should be one of the most respected positions, instead of the way it is viewed by the ignorant on our society.

Thank you, love, but while those bigoted wastes of skin thoroughly pissed me off, they didn't cause my any physical harm. I'm physically disabled and standing up straight and walking is...fucking difficult and fucking painful. My vanity and the difficulty of loading/unloading the wheelchair (that I refuse to use, anyway) resulted in me "marching" (I resemble a gothic-boho Quasimodo) with just my cane. I was thoroughly pissed off and frustrated that I couldn't make it all the way to Riverfront Park.

I'm a bit of a bitter gimp. I have not adapted gracefully. Hell, I don't do ANYTHING gracefully anymore...

[warmly returns embrace] Canada is one of my very favourite places anywhere upon this Blue Dot. My dad was a hockey coach and I spent the skating seasons of my early childhood in the ice rinks of 3 western Canadian provinces. Some of my fondest memories involve piggyback rides on the substantial shoulders of a shy goalie from Montreal who had an aggressive aversion to red lights.

Nursing and Teaching are two professions I have the greatest of respect for. Both are under-paid, vital to society, and not really respected.
