The thing about fact-checking that most people don't understand is that it's not all done by the same people. First day of the job, facties are split into two groups: annoying D&D rules lawyers are sent to cover democrats, and guys who read mysterious omens while high on volcano fumes cover the GOP.
question: in the georgia situation, if the presidential count is uncertified due to handcounting requirements, wouldn't every other race, including, say, for the u.s. house, also be uncertified, since i assume handcount rules apply to all races on the ballot? what happens to georgia's congressional delegation in January?
My guess: A Republican wins -- hey, everything's hunky-dory here, nothing to see, let's get that vote certified. A Democrat wins -- hey, Joe Blow says he saw aliens swapping out ballot boxes, better toss all those votes out just to be safe. Yes, the responses stay the same, even if a Dem wins some and a Repuke wins others.
Ta, Marcie. If I lived in a red state, which of course I don't, I'd check my voter registration every day. We're in a purple state for our honeymoon, and even in this touristic area, we saw a sign that said, "I'm voting for the convicted felon" underneath an Israeli flag. I'd bet you dollars to Duck donuts that the assholes flying those flags ain't Jews.
"If the GOP could limit voting only to retired people who watch Fox News eight hours a day, well, that would be just peachy!"
All of whom registered long enough ago that they never had to prove they were citizens either. Ironically I had to show my birth certificate to get my first drivers license in AZ, not to prove I was a citizen, but to prove I was 16...
Well, they suppressed me and my vote. Thanks to the USPS they have decided that my address doesn't exist and have cancelled my voter registration. (I have lived in my home here in AZ going on 14 years, have voted both in person and by mail in every election and I am not sure why now and what to do get get reinstated.)
((Also too, I had the bad luck to be caught up in the bureaucratic mess that was post 9/11 when I moved here. I went to change my drivers license like good citizens do and what I had to do to get all the documentation to prove I was a US citizen was worthy of a Vogon play with Shakespearian delusions. I anticipate a documentation nightmare electric boogaloo 2.0 in my immediate future.))
I would greatly appreciate it if this bullshit would stop, thank yew very much!
If you had to do all that to get a drivers license renewal, you must have gotten a 'Real ID' one. They still charge $25 to put a fucking gold star on your license, AND make you show up in person at MVD to do it.
Nope. The "Real ID" happened many years after my first round with the AZ DMV. I was waiting to turn 65 (when you have to go renew your license/ID)to renew and get a "Real ID" but now I wonder if I can do that too since I don't have an address. OH GODS!
Sorry, but hand-counting paper ballots is actually very quick, accurate, secure and produces unimpeachable results. We've been doing that here in Canada forever.
It is my understanding, from the Coalition for Good Governance's email, that this is solely about counting how many ballots there are, not tallying the votes. The CGG tends to know what they're talking about, and they aren't freaking out about these new rules. Check them out at https://coalitionforgoodgovernance.org/.
DontheCon becomes GodKing for Life(tm), they proceed to kick everyone they don't like out of the pool - er, country - and everyone will go back to living in all-white Pleasantville where everything is simple and peachy and they don't have to think uncomfortable thoughts *ever again*.
Of course, there are a couple of snags. No fresh produce gets grown or picked. All the nursing homes close because there's no one to work there. Same with all the home health care agencies. No kitchen staff for restaurants. No janitors. I'm sure others can supply the ones I missed.

These people hate American democracy so much when it means they might not win every election.
There is a laundry list of "cases" set up in FedSuc retreats that the quisling court attends (along with the likes of judge (for now) Cannon. They have been gamed out, researched (you didn't think Scalito pulled the witchfinder general out of his own ass, did you?) and the opinions written ... hypothetically. Then they just trot out some lawyers and supposed plaintiffs in the 5th circuit, and Bob's yer uncle. It is easy of you have no morals.

Service Arizona lets you do that: https://servicearizona.com/VoterRegistration/selectLanguage

Thank you. It never occurred to me to do that since it's just bureaucracy stupidity. I see if that helps.

That reminds me, Andrew Breitbart is still dead and Steve Bannon is still in prison.

A fairly small county in Arizona (I think) tried it in 22 and took weeks to get a count, which was still not accurate.
They got a different count each time any one of them tried.

Wait…NH is a battleground state? Per the article about Dem lawyers… Why wasn’t I informed?!? Man the cannons!!!
New Hampshire is the place where the Libertarians tried to take over, until the left stage right pursued by bears...
What do these assholes think will happen if they actually steal the election (again)?
Well, in 2004, Al Gore surrended. But Kamala Harris is not Al Gore, and 2024 is not 2004.

“democracy meddler”
There's a label Elias should wear with pride! I want that t-shirt, too.
(name checks out!)

Which is why they want to get rid of elections altogether.
I'd say it's less of a "cure" than a "treatment".
The fact that we even have to worry about the Supreme Court actually upholding the bs Arizona attempt at voter suppression is just sad.
I thought the Supreme Court only took cases where the lower courts disagreed. Lately they just take up anything that benefits Republicans.
We're keeping receipts. We'll make sure the impeachment process has ALL of them. Keep it up, assholes
They've dropped all the pretenses.

The Republican platform: Lawsuits, chaos, and who knows?
OT a bit, it has been so nice to have DNC joy without Steve "3 shirts to the wind" Bannon around running his mouth.
Wa- ballot comes in mail, mail back. No fuss, no fraud.
California too.
