The most recent would have been all of the accusations that Biden would be on some kinds of drugs during the debate. It was pretty clear that Trump was. I saw a discussion from a doctor about this before the debate. According to him, Trump seems to have ADHD (which tracks with years of people claiming he takes LOTS of Aderall). The doctor pointed out, there are some occasions where Trump is able to behave himself and focus, yet still have a lot of energy. The behavior shift is very noticeable, and indicates an ADHD person taking Aderall.
I agree that journalists and moderators fail to fact-check politicians (usually Trump) for reasons. Some are lazy. Some are granting a degree of respect to “belief” as discussed above. And my theory is that they are often afraid of injecting themselves into the discussion for fear of maga consequences, especially on topics like this. “Oh, you are DEFENDING post-birth abortion then?” Trump does nothing if not lie. So the moderators know they risk becoming part of his lies if they push back on “controversial” topics. They are somewhat better on The Big Lie.
I suppose the next time there is a school shooting, the freaks will claim it is just a bunch of Democrats performing 21st-trimester abortions, see what all this abortion slippery-slope leads to?
I have been an abortion rights activist for nearly 40 years. You have to understand that abortion opponents LOVE the idea that women are cold hearted sluts who get pregnant just so they can have an abortion. And it's not a bloody enough fantasy to consider the truth, that most abortions involve taking some pills that induce a miscarriage, and that this happens months before the pregnancy is advanced enough that the fetus is viable outside the womb.
We can't have anybody thinking it's as simple as that. No, we've got to conjure up images of helpless infants being slaughtered the moment their shoulders clear the birth canal, or 35-week fetuses being gruesomely extracted piece by piece just for the hell of it, because some evil woman hates babies and her doctor likes to kill things.
In other words, they are untethered from the pesky concept of reality that the rest of us live in.
Unfortunately in the UK it is still legal to abort a baby at 9 months if the baby has Down syndrome. I am an advocate for individuals with disabilities. There is a large group fighting this in the UK.
