Convicted Felon Dinesh D'Souza has perpetrated another movie, this time cleverly titled Death of a Nation: Can We Save America A Second Time? It makes the perfectly rational case that Donald Trump is a second Abraham Lincoln, here to free the USA from Democrats who are bent on enslaving everyone, or at least convict them of campaign finance felonies. In other words, more of the same blend of rightwing grievance and incredibly bad history that's made D'Souza one of the great public intellectuals of the right, pumping out the same glurge over and over like a veritable Jon McNaughton with a digital camera.
D'Souza makes -- yes, again -- the completely serious argument, supplemented by very smart historical reenactments, that Democrats are very literally fascists who never ever dropped their commitment to slavery, because you know who founded the KKK? And it shouldn't be the least bit surprising this Hefty bag full of warmed over tweet-thinks has been warmly embraced by Donald Trump Jr., who co-hosted the movie's premiere Wednesday night in Washington DC. With him was former Fox yakker Kimberly Guiilfoyle, the other load of prefabricated lies Don Jr.'s been embracing lately.
The Washington Post notes, with only mild disappointment, that the many rightwing stars milling around only wanted to talk to friendly news outlets. Sebastian Gorka wouldn't even offer WaPo a single quote, although he did find time to share his important thoughts on film with someone else, explaining that maybe Russell Crowe could play him in a movie, at least if Crowe gets "back into the gym." (Fact check: No known workouts can make a human head that large.)
As for Don Junior, he wouldn't talk to WaPo either, but he did grant an interview to the Breitbart wannabe One America News, in which he summed up why he thinks D'Souza has nailed history once again:
"When you look at the movie, you'll see that there is a very distinct and clear difference between what actually happened and what is being sold to our youth today," he said. "You see the Nazi platform from the early 1930s . . . and you look at it, compared to the DNC platform of today, you're saying, 'Man, those things are awfully similar' to a point where it's actually scary. It's the exact opposite of what you've been told."
It's so true! Just look at the 2016 Dem platform, and the similarities are ASTONISHING:
Say what you will about the tenets of National Socialism, dude, but at least they worried about their carbon footprint. And historically black colleges and universities. Dinesh thought Don Jr.'s praise was 100 percent accurate, of course, because they're all completely nuts:
State control of banks, of education, of healthcare, of religious liberty. Any of this ring a bell? @DonaldJTrumpJr https: //t.co/RCknfFkLRL

Yes, and the Autobahn, too! Democrats ARE Hitler!
We honestly haven't decided whether to bother seeing this one, because for Crom's sake, not only does D'Souza just flat out lie, he's such a hack in how he constructs his lies. As the Hollywood Reporter review says, nobody expects a Dinesh D'Souza joint to be "thoughtful, balanced or historically accurate," but worse, he seems intent on "bori[ng] our pants off." We'll see it if Yr Editrix orders us to. Or maybe if you filthy fuckaducks want to go mock a matinee before the Seattle Drinky Thing next Saturday? Discuss in the comments, okay?

Or America's Reptile. You choose.
George shouldn’t that first “to” be too? Newt Gingrich taught American History at Flag Staff U. part of the U of Phoenix System.
