Do Not Read Donald Rumsfeld's New Memoir
Donald Rumsfeld's memoir will be published in January. Don't read it:
"Known and Unknown," being published by Sentinel (an imprint of Penguin), refers to Rumsfeld's explanation in 2002 for the lack of evidence that Iraq was supplying terrorists with weapons of mass destruction.
"Reports that say that something hasn't happened are always interesting to me, because, as we know, there are known knowns; there are things we know that we know," he said. "There are known unknowns. That is to say, there are things that we now know we don't know. But there are also unknown unknowns. There are things we do not know we don't know."
A statement from Sentinel said Rumsfeld, 78, will write about his childhood and political career, including stints as a Republican congressman from Illinois in the 1960s, secretary of defense under President Gerald Ford and again under Bush. Rumsfeld resigned after the 2006 midterm elections, when Republicans lost control of Congress.
Yeah, "No thank you."

At last, the unvarnished truth from a man whose deep patriotism demands nothing less for the sake of the soldiers who suffered and died in Iraq. OK, OK, I'm just kidding of course, but someday I hope to say that about something the Bushies write about their fuck-ups.
