Ta, Dok. Professor Prettypaws is back, and if we want to be irrationally exuberant this weekend, you can't stop us. Speaking of which, tomorrow is Naked Gardening Day.

Hope Hicks is crying on witness stand. Probably not from shame, though, which would be understandable.

Expand full comment

Apparently she was crying because she had to say negative things about Pwesident Twump.

She’s just gross. She dated every MAGAt monster in her orbit, including spouse-abuser Rob Porter and maybe Lewandowski or Pasquale or both and I don’t care if I misspelled either or both of their names.

Expand full comment

She's from a wealthy family in CT, and she's very attractive, so you'd think she could have done better in her life. I don't know how anyone could find Lewandowski (also a woman beater) attractive.

Note that we paid $133 billion in interest on our national debt through March of this year. Gee, if only we'd known that running up massive deficits with unpaid for wars, and tax cuts, would eventually cause a problem, but who could have seen this coming?

Outlays were $3.3 trillion through March, an increase of 6%, largely due to:*

$𝟏𝟑𝟑 𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧 (𝟒𝟑%) 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐧𝐞𝐭 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐩𝐚𝐲𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐝𝐞𝐛𝐭 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐝𝐞𝐛𝐭 𝐛𝐮𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐧. [this is how much money it's cost THIS year to give billionaires interest free, tax free "loans" by not charging them their fair share of taxes]

$31 billion (8%) increase in spending by the Department of Defense for military personnel and the Department’s operations and maintenance.

$30 billion increase in spending by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) ($43 billion due to transactions with the Federal Financing Bank) as it continues to manage the aftermath of last spring’s bank failures. The FDIC expects to recoup this over the next 10 years through higher premiums from FDIC-insured institutions and by liquidating the affected banks’ assets.

Never liked that fucker anyway and was mad at Pelosi for sticking with him in the primary. This is perhaps the only time I was right and she was wrong.

Part of the ONLY reason Twitter ever became a thing is there was some actual utility as a news service, back when it cared about filtering out the bullshit. You had enough famous and adjacent people buying in, it felt like a way to collaborate and communicate.

Now it’s full of nazis, the nazis with blue checks get pushed to the front of the pile, it’s impossible to trust what you are reading and everyone interesting has left.

With Truth all of that applies and the only reason anyone is using it is to read one posters comments. Even most dipshits maintain an x account they primarily post from

What kind of scumbag lawyer secretly tapes his client – Spanky's!

Jurors in the hush money trial of Donald Trump heard a recording Thursday of him discussing with his then-lawyer and personal fixer a plan to purchase the silence of a Playboy model who has said she had an affair with the former president.

A visibly irritated Trump leaned forward at the defense table, and jurors appeared riveted as prosecutors played the September 2016 recording that attorney Michael Cohen secretly made of himself briefing his celebrity client on a plan to buy Karen McDougal's story of an extramarital relationship.

OT, but about 2 hours ago I started feeling really light headed and woozy and out of sorts, almost faint. Plus, the pinched nerve in my neck that acts up when I'm under a lot of stress happened, meaning my arm was tingly.

I was pretty convinced I was dying but I just told my clerk how I felt and asked her to just talk for a bit and then I had a glass of water and a snack (and no, MOM, I hadn't eaten anything). Deep breaths. I'm feeling better so I assume it's anxiety plus low blood sugar. I just made sure I was around other people so I could get help if I did faint.

I don't know me boys--I need to start yoga or meditation or something probably. Maybe even my anxiety meds.

Expand full comment

I'm glad you notified someone nearby, I had an incident yesterday on returning from the gym and a hard workout, nearly fainted in the short walk to the door. I sat down and waited 10 mins til it passed but also texted this to HusbX, for an FYI if it became important. Low BP can do a lotta weirdness to me. T'ai chi or Chi q'ong might also be something to check out, if any is available. How's your BP, if you know?

I just checked it a bit ago--it's a bit high for me, but my normal's 90/45...I'm at 110, which is probably actually a little better for staying upright!

Buspirone and small meals every few hours help me. If you’re prescribed buspirone take it on an empty stomach for maximum effect but eat something within a half hour of the dose.

That low blood sugar thing is real.

Expand full comment

I found that sometimes on road trips my wife and I would occasionally squabble for no reason, until one time I asked her out of the blue, "Did you eat anything before we left?" When she said she hadn't I said I hadn't either, so we pulled over at the next exit and grabbed something to eat and after that we were both fine. I have to ask myself if I'm in a worse mood than normal if I might just be hungry.

Expand full comment

You think you'd just feel hungry, but the shaking and everything does make you feel anxious, and each time it happens and then I'm like, duh--and eat something I think "I must remember that this is what is happening".

I started carrying little packets of protein snacks that are small and easy to eat, and they're worth whatever Whole Foods charges for them. I could probably make something similar, but if I'm not remembering to eat, I'm certainly not going to remember to cook snacks.
