"We've been through a lot together." It was obvious then that Putin had already owned Trump. But Putin seems to have miscalculated in the effect that Trump revealing this had on his American audience.
WE should have laughed at him. All of us, including the media--especially the media, who ought to have been first to point out the absurdity of this. Putin learned what Trump's writers always do: you can give him the best lines, but don't count on his delivery to get you bang for your buck.
Just a joke (but true) re languages: Mc Arthur was a revered figure in Japan by the time he left planning to enter US politics. Along the huge parade route, a sign:
I listened to the entire Foreign Affairs podcast with Fiona Hill. Americans are so happy making payments with their weekly checks--with a little bit in a retirement account--they have no idea what is happening globally. We used to elect leaders with historical knowledge and a genuine support of the American Constitution. We can see from the reps in Congress now that many have elected idiots with no historical knowledge and no understanding of world affairs.
This will not end well for American families living blissful lives, making ends meet. Perhaps we should look to Russia for how to live a happy, happy life. Read up kids! It's gonna happen here if we don't stop this.

Corporations have been enthroned and an era of corruption in high places will follow, and the money power of the country will endeavor to prolong its reign by working upon the prejudices of the people until all wealth is aggregated in a few hands and the Republic is destroyed."
Lincoln's words still echo chillingly 160 years later. He correctly predicted the Gilded Age arising from the corruption of Reconstruction. I doubt he foresaw his Republican party dragging us down into today's nightmare.
BTW the quote is from the 1932 edition of the Bulletin of the Abraham Lincoln Association. I haven't researched it further.
Wonder if Putin has ever teabagged Trump? Even if he hasn't someone should do an AI video of it just for shits and giggles. I'm just trying to find humor in a complete shit show that is our country now.
Evan, that may be over-interpretation. I showed this to a friend who is a Russian emigre, a scientist, and a lawyer. She closely follows the news in both countries. She said:
'I listened to the original full video of that meeting in Russian. The guy to the left of Putin said "your press secretary says you are having a call with Trump before 6 pm." At that point it is not clear (to me) what time it was. Putin responds "don't listen to him", referring to the press secretary Peskov, not Trump. "that's his [Peskov's] job". The audience is laughing, then the guy to the left says "what will Trump say to this phrase, he likes giving interviews", Putin says "I didn't mention Trump, I referred to Peskov."
'It seems a stretch to say, at least to me based on that video, that Putin was already way late to talk to Trump and the audience laughed at specifically his keeping Trump waiting for a long time.'

GOOD LUCK ON YOUR ERECTION

You know this is probably why he posted that AI video. He didn't realise that was mocking him either.
Thanks for this. That Queens schmuck is being dog-walked by a far smarter man.
“What’s it like to be the true laughingstock of the world? Donald Trump would know if he ever experienced one millisecond of true self-awareness. “
…if he ever learned a second language, or even English…
Thank you Fiona for being such a fair and realistic person
Does Sir even know Putin speaks Russian? Because during calls with the former KGB Agent Sir can often be heard to say "... it's all Greek to me."
Ta, Evan. I don't have time to watch the podcast now, but I'll put it on the list.

The exact moment Putin decided Russia would be better off if America had a weak, stupid president.

Thanks for this recommendation. I didn’t know about this podcast.

Just like the MAGA minions, Trump looks around at Putin and thinks he's in on the con.
Fuck Ted Cruz.
“in on the con” lol they wish 🤡

So either way, the audience is laughing at Trump.
I wonder about all the other examples Evan reported on. Seems like many were unambiguously making fun of him.
