When I was in Israel at a fairly nice restaurant I was surprised to see moussaka on the menu, since I only knew it as based on ground beef and melted cheese, so I ordered it to see what it would turn out to be. The cheese was replaced with eggplant, and it was quite good.
Of all the insane shitty things that happened under dumbfuck this one hit me the hardest. Thinking of my boys when they were little, how horrified I was to lose one of them for 4 minutes at an amusement park once, the thought of doing this on purpose kept me up at night.
You know it devastated all those babies. And trauma is the gift that keeps on giving. They, and the people who love them, will suffer all their lives. There is no punishment, no consequence bad enough for the people who did this.
Seeing it on the weekend with a friend whose father was born on the same rez during the time these events took place. Should be really interesting to her her father's stories that have passed to her.
