Liz isn't lying about the federal grand jury deal. I sat on one for a long time a few years ago. Everything was voted a "true bill", because all the grand jury is deciding is if the government has shown that it should be able to compel the defendant's appearance, the jury isn't giving a guilty verdict, only that it would appear the feds have enough evidence to ask this person questions under oath. The feds are pros, and didn't bring up sketchy charges. I objected one time because I thought it was a stretch to charge a GF of an accused person with a felony on account of less than one gram of MJ, but the FBI agent testifying looked up and said "it's a controlled substance", he had a record. That was that.

For what it's worth, Comey ran his October letter to Congress by McCabe before he sent it, and McCabe told him it was a terrible idea. We all know how that turned out.
