It’s 1:15am here in CA. I’m writing this with one hand, as my 3 week old granddaughter is sleeping on my shoulder. I love hearing her little breaths, and I don’t want to put her down. I want to guard her like a fierce old battle scarred mama bear. When Roe was overturned, I thought I’d go nuts. It seems like I’ve had my jaw clenched since 2016. The speed at which women are losing traction in this country is astonishing. I was raised southern Baptist so I know this IS their jam, but back in 1975 (high school) I’d never have believed that we, as women, apparently mean so little to the GOP. I’m both fucking FURIOUS, and heartbroken.

No need to prioritize. We’ll just make one Really Big Really Beautiful Bill.

WHY? People lacking in empathy are raised in a culture which passes on the belief that a wife or child is being punished for disobedience, rather than being abused. Makes me so angry.

"anything a bunch of unqualified morons have deemed to be “duplicative, DEI, or simply unnecessary.” They’ve accidentally fired and tried to rehire innumerable federal workers working on programs related to everything from nuclear power to bird flu"

* Within the Fulvous Fuckwad's administration v2.0 Doublespeak is de rigueur for the RINOs. Being an "unqualified moron" means you are qualified to be put into any position in the gubmint, while being "qualified" for a position means you are unqualified (unless you can prove loyalty to Mooseballs Mussolini and MAGA in general).

* "DEI and simply unnecessary" are, by definition, anyone who is a woman; a POC; an immigrant; a Jew; a Muslim; anyone who's not commitment to the cause; an untamed judge ruling against MAGAdroids; an untamed judge who puts the Constitution and Law before partisan beliefs; anyone opposed to rule by diktat; Leftist, Socialist, Fascist, Communist, LGBTQIA+ loving, Drag show attending, Disloyal, Unpatriotic, Out to destroy our country Libs...

* The firings of bureaucrats responsible implementing nuclear power was not a mistake, and some have been hired back to give the impression that this situation is being fixed, but don't be fooled. The firings were to delay an increase in nuclear power for the benefit of major RINO donors who just happen to be affiliated with the fossil fuel industry.

* Research into the prevention and halting the spread of bird flu is a waste of time and taxpayers' money. The farmers of birds likely to be infected need to put in place a variation of that great lifesaver of the 1950s and '60s: Pox Parties, to build up herd (flock?) immunity. Forget about vaccinations for birds and for people when the flu mutates to be able to spread to humans; there are too many birds to be vaxxed (although some sort of additive to their feed might work), and the vaxxes for people are being based on ***gasps loudly and wildly swinging arms*** mRNA.

-----

"the cuts, firing and information purges have managed to practically decimate 40 years worth of federal resources, programs and grants"

The RINOs haven't gone back in time anywhere near far enough:

Right-wingers don't believe crimes against women are crimes unless they were perpetrated by someone who isn't white. The racism trumps the misogyny.

Now there's a dangerous thing to play with, unless you're confident that there's not going to be anyone else as President again.

Cause the next guy could just write a declaration that Trump was senile and nothing he signed counts.

Locally, the YWCA quietly built out a domestic violence safe place that's reachable 24/7/365. Staffed with volunteer counselors and attorneys, it is one of those "quiet" things that exists in wealthy communities. It is *always* is use. Domestic violence is exacerbated by money ... at least that's how it seems to be here.

So, of course, the local republican leadership cancelled the teeny block grant (through HUD) it gets this year.
