In the grand tradition of nothing in my 1960s house working properly, the new in 2020 Google Nest thermostat died, so I can't turn on my a/c. The a/c doesn't work right anyway, because I think the contractor saved by having barely trained capuchin monkeys do the duct work. The only cool place in the house is the bedroom in the basement converted from a den, which never had a/c, so we had to buy a big rollaway window unit. This is counteracted by the 1980s kitchen and family room addition, which has no heating. If I had a time machine, I would...with votes.
