Sure, the GOP still wants to repeal Obamacare. Because every bill they have brought up also contains the beginnings of repeal of traditional Medicaid. Either by gradually reducing funding, or converting the program to block grants. Which will probably allow states to move money from Medicaid to anything remotely associated with health care, like repair of failing sewer systems in Republican led cities. And states will need those extra funds for something besides health care for the poor since many of them have been on the tax cut rampage the last few years. It's already caught up with several of them, like Kansas and Oklahoma.

I am hearing reports that my state, North Carolina, may be finally facing a big budget deficit this year. The only reason it did not hit earlier is that the state jacked up sales tax, including sales taxes on luxuries like electric power and LP gas for heating. No, the GOP will not be satisfied with simply repealing the ACA (and ignoring the rest of their promise to replace it with anything). They want to start cutting traditional Medicaid. The tax give away will likely start affecting Medicare soon also. The GOP is counting on the Democrats to join them in a waiver, but I hope they do not. That will only result in the national debt expanding even faster and much more than the fake number of $1.5 trillion. Nothing will convert a die hard 68 year old on Medicare to the Democratic side more quickly than raising their Medicare premium by $50 a month so you can give Trump a tax break. That alone will erase the tax benefit most of them will get.
