It's already too late to contain it in the US. That graph shows only the confirmed cases, which thanks to our crappy testing is WAAAAY below the actual number. The CDC already admits as much. Even if we do flatten the curve before becoming another Italy - and we're not looking good on that score - we're going to have no relief until we have a vaccine in hand, sometime next year.

With the Dumbfuck in charge, we'll probably see some states pretend that the economy is more important than public health (looking at you, MIssissippi), and we'll see how well that works out. (Spoiler: about as well as trickle-down economics, with the GOP again learning nothing from failure.)
