Dylann Roof has opted for a judicial decree, not a jury trial in the federal charges. He will first be tried on state charges by jury and then a federal judge will decide on death or not.

About time the press stopped giving him a free podium, so I see this as a plus.

Which is the exact opposite of what he had said two seconds before.

So, basically, the Trump "campaign" plans to offer us Short Attention Span Theater for the next five months.

I've seen, on TPM, that Trump himself complains that his prepared comments are boring, and that when he did so to Mitch McConnell Yertle's response was that he likes boring.

So, yes, Trump's prepared comments are world's apart from what Trump thinks. They also seem to yield only polite golf claps from his fans.

That's exactly why Trump and Friends go on Fox & CNN. No fear of pushback.

Remember what happened to Megyn Kelly?

Republicans push the radical Islamic terrorist crap because they do know the power of words. Look at what they'll do to avoid saying radical Christian terrorist.

And I liked that she got the dig in about who actually got Bin Laden. Actions do speak louder than words.

We could easily block everything on the Muslin internet by tying the Islamic tubes. Easy also, too, peasy.

You didn't read anything that I linked for you. Sufism is the original 9th century "radical" scholarship of Islam. And don't refer to me as "silly." You are ignorant. "Ignorant" means someone who has information made available to them and they choose to ignore it. Just the overlong quotations in my reply to you make your comments ridiculous. And if you had read the "Boston Globe" general article you would know better. And it seems unlikely that you would even understand the scholarly article. From the 9th to the early 20th century, the variations of Sufi teachings were the essence of militant Islam. It is not unusual for people to "believe" otherwise, but it's wrong. Specific forms of Sufism in West Africa and Southeast Asia are militant, radical, and violent and have been since the 17th century. It seems as if you do not know very much about the Sufi history or its long tradition of hatred and extremism toward Salafi Islam. In Africa and South Asia, the Sufi orders are the essence of radical Islam. Go and read. Learn. My quotation from the "Boston Globe" lists 4 Sufi extremist nations beside the Chechens and you just blow it off. Amazing. Aceh, etc.

I got distracted from the article when I saw the picture, and I suddenly realized that Donald Trump is the color of a defective Dorito.

Of course, to be fair to the Dorito, he's not quite as intelligent.

There's nothing in the Quran that says it's okay to shoot up a nightclub. Quite the opposite. I'd say he was far from Islamic.

Philosophically radical? Like, "Dude, the world is an illusion and I'm lost in the true nature of God." "Bro, that is radical."
