Is...is there a name for "just keeping on repeating what you desperately want to be the truth, in the hope it might suddenly happen"? Is it a logical fallacy or just...magical thinking? Are these people honestly trying to The Secret their way into office?
I'd accuse Cohen and Trump's various other staffers of having the political instincts of kamikaze pilots, only that's terribly unfair to the warriors of the Divine Wind--after all, they were at least capable of getting their planes off the ground in the first place.
My wife is such a gentle, caring old soul that it astounded me when she got so angry, used cursing that I never hear from her, and was describing horrible things to do. I'm still a little amazed.
