I know my ex-husband, a Canadian, is somewhere thinking, "My darling ex-wife, your President really sucks!" among other things. Can't argue with that.

Maybe he thinks Sinatra will just offer some of her billions to a genius urban planner and command, "Build me my auto plants!"

Hopefully he hasn't watched the rest of Paradise. Hulu shows tend to go from dystopia to documentary a bit too fast for me.

I listened to the Stephen Liesman soundbite...My new favorite saying regarding Trump and Co...

"Insanity is not a strategy."

It had to be said. I guess.

Ya beat me to it. Actually, if I'm honest, I just realized there are certain aspects of my life that sentence applies to, but I'm not the President.

I was dismayed several weeks back to see my favorite elderly aunt posted some copy-and-paste nonsense about why Krasnov is so great ("we shouldn't be giving money to people who don't want to work," "our tax dollars going to a war on the other side of the world that isn't any of our business..." etc.). I've always considered her "cool" because she has often liked/loved my shenanigans on Facebook that are about 90% either left-wing political or a bit...shall we say, off-color, and then I saw THAT. I noticed her son, my cousin Jeff, commented something like "Come on, Mom, I can't believe you're that stupid."

I found that interesting because anything I'd ever seen Jeff post over the years has been heavily right-leaning. A lot of it I didn't understand because he's lived in Canada for over 25 years, but there was praise for various American right-wing ideals as well. I don't know him very well because, not only is he 10 years younger than I am, but there was a huge rift in the family when I was a young teenager and he was a toddler and we hadn't had any contact since then. I got a FB friend request from him several years ago because, rift healed, I was friends with his sister and his mother.

About a week after my aunt's post, I finally decided to get in touch with him because I'd noticed him getting reemed by his other so-called friends in the States when he posted an anti-Krasnov meme. He replied, and we compared what it's like to live in other countries while we watch our homeland circle the drain because of crazy people in the White House and he expressed his thoughts on the previously unheard-of, unimagined threats to his adopted country. He understands tarriffs because they will directly affect his business and he basically said he was middle-of-the-road/leaning-right in his politics before but, since Biden and especially the trump sequel, he has done a major swing to the left.

It's weird that, because of Krasnov's idiotic game-playing "governance," I've basically gained a new Canadian family member and ally.

Remember, unicorns are wild animals and should be treated with respect. Do not approach if you see one.

Fun fact. The Ambassador Bridge is privately owned. It isn't owned by the cities, state, province, or countries connected by it.

Some filthy rich family that figured out an angle when it was built.

Fine I’ll say it. We need nukes. If we had nukes then he’d leave us the fuck alone. We never wanted nukes but now he won’t quit pestering us so we need nukes. Point one at Merde Lardo and one at Washington and one at Texas to take out Musk’s crap there. Name them all Fat Orange Man and Little Hands Boy. We don’t have nukes because we declined them not because we weren’t advanced enough or whatever. But now it’s time.

Maybe, but he is messing with UK and France as well, and they do have nukes.

Not saying it's not a good idea.

Trump loves tariffs always has. His toadies in Commerce and Treasury are on board. Remember American unions hated NAFTA but once it passed, Clinton claimed new jobs would replace the old manufacturing jobs. Didn’t happen. Since then companies have moved factories to Mexico for cheap labor and to some extent Canada. End result: America is an economic wasteland, all to escape unions. Trump thinks tariffs will bring back the good jobs, dream on.

He thinks it's going to be like the 50's again. I guess he forgot some of that was due to the US being one of the few intact western countries after the war.
