I’d like to see a group of like-minded parents organize a Satanist or Pastafarian or Whatnot education group, and take all their kids out of school on a recurring basis. And maybe use the opportunity to invite some reporters to their meetings, where they brainwash the children into treating other people with respect and allowing people to be who they are, not who you want them to be.
My first job after grad school plunged me right into the heart of "The Heart of It All" (the state motto, stamped into license plates and emblazoned over highways). For two years I taught literature and writing at a small college located near the geographic center of Ohio. Never good at academic social politicking, I spent my freer hours driving in as many directions as I could find roads; while I can't claim intimate knowledge of Ohioans, I did get some sense of the crazy-quilt state they inhabit.
Gerrymandering has rendered Ohio's politicians about as ANTI-representative of their true constituencies as could be achieved. From the governor on down, they cater to and are controlled by the suburbs of Columbus, Cincinnati, and Cleveland--but even more than that by exogenous donors who see a struggling state as rubes to exploit.
I lived over 25 years in Ohio — grew up in the beautiful Appalachian region along the Ohio then later spent 10 years in the Akron Cleveland area which has beautiful historic towns and the most amazing parks of any urban are I have lived in (and there are several more including DC).It beat the hell out of the nine years I had lived in Texas even though the state actually elected Dems back then and had Molly Ivins. I love the state but hate the politics which, like Texas, has gotten much worse since Fox News brainwashed people while the mainstream “liberal” media normalized or even played along with the growing extremism.
Republicans are the party of hate because they have no plan to do anything for anyone. Name one thing repubs have ever done for the middle and lower classes. ONE OF THE MOST UNWELCOMING STATES IN THE US. Ohio is a shithole state
The difference between trans people and Jesus is trans people actually exist, unlike Jesus which is purely a bullshit fairytale for those too weak to handle reality.
So how soon before someone gets sued because Mrs. Bennett has a photo on her desk of her husband Charles and their children Simon and Carleigh? Because that right there is a sexuality topic.
I fully expect people to sue the fuck out of the state on the grounds that most of the bill is so vague as to be unconstitutional, meaningless, or both. Any sane judge (stop laughing, they exist!) would stomp the bill like an idiot heels turds down the shower drain.
Oh and I’m absolutely sure that people practicing non-Christian faiths will be allowed to be removed for hours per day for religious education. I’m sure.
Looking forward to the all the complaints (and lawsuits?) over teachers instructing kids that boys shouldn't be playing with dolls, or girls shouldn't be too interested in computers (or whatever other idiocy they come up with). 'Cause that's "gender ideology" too.
Are "mommy" and "daddy" "sexual concepts"?

Culture wars are designed to be the shiny object to keep from addressing real issues.
“Student's mental, emotional, or physical health or well-being.”
Wouldn't the parent who is so very very concerned be the first to know this?
Also, that bint misquoting Matthew: You are the one causing harm to the little ones, you vapid shitheel
Way to go, Ohio ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gtrxxMBkfx4
One of the greats of rock and roll.
Ta, Crip Dyke. Trans rights are human rights, period. Nothing less will do. Same for LGBQI and A.
I used to live in Ohio.

I support the left
Though I'm leaning, leaning to the right

The answer's in the question
