I've long felt that the minimum effort to get corruption out of politics would be to require publishing the names of contributors of over $1000 promptly

How many shell non profits does it take to hide dark money coming in from Russia to Trump and Leo?

so called dark money is ruining the world - those responsible, including the people who vote against measure to block dark money, should be held responsible

You should see how Leo and Mrs. Leo gussy up for the Fed Soc version of a debutante ball, which happens to resemble a Napoleanic military ceremony if it were ensconced in contemporary Manhattan.

The names are Teutonic but the garb is all over the fashion place, as if no one can figure out how to express their ultra superiority via clothes suited to their actual body types--which are refreshingly average for Americans their age.

Supreme Court Justices are public personalities and give up some of their rights to privacy when they take the job.

While all of those payoffs seem like a lot, considering what they stood to gain for getting favorable rulings from the only court that can't be appealed, Thomas sold his soul cheap.

I vaguely remember all the hoopla around Kennedy being a Catholic and later reading about it as a being a real issue during his campaign. I wasn't old enough to understand it then (I barely remember the day he was killed) but having read quite a bit of history I came to realize how big a deal it was and how there was a big concern regarding whether his beliefs would influence his politics. I remember thinking that it was kind of ludicrous and somewhat insulting that he was pressured about it.

Now I'm at the point where I think there might have been something to the whole idea that a Catholic cabal is working to undermine our government.

Check out the makeup of the Supreme Court. It is far from representative and I'm not even counting the extreme political bias. The Court has 6 Catholics. It is also heavily weighted towards the north-eastern section of the country. I am not at all anti-Catholic, but I am pro equality.

"As of 2022, the court has a majority from the Northeastern United States, with five justices coming from states to the north and east of Washington, D.C.: two justices born in New York (both in New York City), one in New Jersey, and two from Washington, D.C., itself."

The English, and by extension, the Americans, have obsessed about the power of the Catholic Church since the time of Henry VIII. And in the early 1500s, the Vatican was powerful, and could fuck around with England's internal affairs all it wanted. That included not letting Henry divorce his wife, who was the aunt of Charles, the Holy Roman Emperor and richest guy in Europe. But most of that power was gone by the early 1800s. So in 1960, it was just prod fundies being assholes, like now.

If it's a "Catholic cabal," it's only because that's how a majority of the bastards self-identify. The Vatican has nothing to do with it and is not pulling any strings, which was the big (utterly bogus) concern with JFK.

I was being somewhat facetious in my post, as I realize that Pope Francis isn't pulling the strings at SCOTUS, hell he's having trouble just controlling the Vatican.

Gotta give Justice Cokepube his due: he knows how to squeeze Leo for the *good* stuff. Not like those cheap ass representatives who sell out for $10,000US and a Lé Bobo handy.

Now we know why trump wasn't worried. He's got at least one traitor hiding in every closet. The Southern District of New York handed off hundreds of totally useless documents in order to delay his trial with Alvin Bragg, and now the appeals court comes to his aid.
