Either you hold fast with the legion of 'little' people who make shit happen, or you are just part of the problem.

Wow, I've always liked her but she's illiterate.

Maybe she needs writers?

I fully support striking workers, orgs and unions. That’s their power, “you agree to terms with fair wages, we return to work.” When employers are able (and willing) to simply go around their striking employees and hire scabs, it hurts people and fair labor rights. There isn’t a really good argument for scab work, except for those employees so poor or desperate they can’t afford to be patient. Some of those folks deserve compassion too. When I was 18-19 years old, I worked temp jobs in the summer. It was easy work, usually the jobs required a warm body and some minimal work. They called me, told me where to go, I went and got paid. Except one day they sent me to a company that was tricky to get to, on account of the striking workers in the parking lot shouting and intimidating anyone who pulled in and appeared to be trying to work. I was a teenager, I didn’t understand the politics or importance of the situation. I just felt threatened and intimidated. I recall specifically the threat, “we’ll be here waiting for you when you get done.” I never left my car, turning around and trying to leave as fast as possible (as they demanded) when I was pulled over by a cop, who was talking to the strikers. “Hey! There are people walking here!” He scolded. “I’m just trying to fucking leave, they are threatening me.” Now I understand they needed their jobs and bargaining leverage. But they treated me unfairly, assuming I even knew why I was being hired. I didn’t. The temp agency was obviously at fault, and should have faced consequences for sending a teenager to cross a picket line.

Is Drew's situation different than The View? Wondering why they aren't taking any heat for airing without writers?

Drew, meet Lauren.

I don't understand this situation and DB in particular here. Ok after the onslaught of feedback, why not just go, sorry, i was terribly wrong, I have decided to stay off the air in support. Thank you for reminding me of my values as an actor and performer and as part of this collective known as art. but nooooo she has to keep going?? what are they going to do, fire her? and what does she care, does she need the money so badly? man just a bad thing and then made badder.. ugh.

I thought she did do that, according to this update? https://www.pajiba.com/tv_reviews/drew-barrymore-on-backlash-theres-nothing-i-can-say-to-make-it-ok.php Is Pajiba misinformed? Or am I confused? Also, I think she's worried about all the *other* workers that will get fired, which is a short sighted take, for sure. Scab's a scab.

And she's a Barrymore! Her father and grandfather must be turning over in their graves.

Forntunately MrPug is and old dog who hates romcoms and the only thing he hates more are daytime chit chat shows so he won't be missing much by never seeing her again.

The irony, judging from those few paragraphs, is that Drew Barrymore is a terrible writer. Get me my red pen.....

She really does speak in bumper stickers. "I own this choice." So frickin what?

Well, let's see - Barrymore - where have I heard that last name before? Not to besmirch the reputations of her ancestors, growing up as Hollywood royalty certainly must have had an effect.

Looked up her filmography and I'm not that impresseed.

Also, on her Wikipedia page there's a picture of her with Ronald Reagan's arm around her.

Gee, wasn't he once the head of the Screen Actors Guild? A UNION....

Reading her post .... I think she very much needs professional writers.

Seriously confusing word salad.

I've heard repeatedly that she's a very nice person who is also, unfortunately, notably dumb. I think that in some idiotic way she thinks this is actually good in some "holistic" way.

I really like Drew and I think she tries hard to be a progressive thinker. This might be Drew trying to “think outside the box” by somehow having the only show able to resume writing content, while also supporting the writers? I think she wants to have her cake and eat it too. She doesn’t need the money, I have to believe. She can probably do far more for her show by refusing to honor her contract until her writers are all paid their fair share. I like Drew, but I obviously don’t know her. I’ve been fooled before when I liked Gweneth before her Goop wacky self-help quackery rubbed me the wrong way.

*WARNING: Do not rub Gwyneth’s Goop on yourself the wrong way. Or really any way, to be safe.*

Why? I’ve observed her in person (at a studio restaurant). She is actually one of the nicest people in Hollywood. With that said…I do not think she is a rocket scientist and I think she is getting bad advice. I hope she stops.

Drew Barrymore's show airs in Rachael Ray's former timeslot here in Orlando, so I started watching it unintentionally when Rachael finally said goodbye (yes, I am a lazy creature of habit). While she was no Rachael, I was mildly amused by the Drew show, despite her relentless, airy positivity and her "Hollywood mean girl's table" vibe. That all changed when she devoted an entire episode to "the Long Island psychic" lady, Theresa Caputo. Drew fawned all over her, credulously, and played right along with the obvious cold reading stunts. It was a major disappointment. And now, this misguided, scabby nonsense. I will find the energy to lift the remote now, I swear.
