DSCC Accuses Pat Toomey of Being Communist Fortune Cookie

Sharron Angle's not the only one who looks Asian. According to the DSCC, Pennsylvania Sleestak character's opponent Pat Toomey is a no-good red Chinaman because he supports free trade practices. Was a country of 1.3 billion people just reduced to a gong sound effect, the color red, and a picture of a fortune cookie? Yes, it was. This is an ad from the "progressive" political party, by the way.

The economic growth and modernization in China over the last 30 years has lifted literally hundreds of millions of people out of poverty, and if you don’t think that’s an unmitigated great thing then fuck you, I hope a Chinese person does “steal your job”.

Yes. And having good relations with China and other countries is pretty important to people who are young and want to have a viable, modern career in a viable economy in their country. And Democrats in the Senate who try to deal with China in trade and diplomatic affairs in Asia and across the globe probably don't want to be putting out ads like this with these funny "Me Chinee!" stereotypes. But it looks like their campaign arm just did, so whoops!

And if neither party in this old Western democracy has the wherewithal to stand against offensive, xenophobic crap, we deserve to be taken over by China.
