I'll say it again for any election deniers, if they think that they process is rigged, why even bother to participate? If they participate then they should abide by the decision, unless they only think it is rigged if they lose and not if they win?

In that case, fuck off.

My daughter had the bad luck to run afoul of the Mean Girls clique at her school, and was raging to me about it one day. Fortunately she didn't WANT their approval, but their constant bitchiness was annoying as a swarm of mosquitoes.

Trying to console her, I said there were two possibilities for their lives. They'd grow out of it, and be embarrassed and ashamed by their behaviour; or they wouldn't grow out of it, and be like that their entire lives. And if ever an offence carries its own punishment, it's being a Mean Girl.

Constantly stuck in shallow, transitional toxic relationships, with shitty selfish people. Unable to trust anyone because you know your "friends" will weaponise any vulnerabilities. Living for the next bit of spicy gossip and absolutely unconcerned about whether or not it's true, so long as it's hurtful. Constantly watching your back. Always unhappy and feeling put upon, dissatisfied with every relationship, hating your job, and with absolutely no ability to improve any of the shittiness because you don't realise you're the arsehole.

Years later she said, "You know, Mum... when you said that I thought you were full of shit, but you're absolutely right ". She'd been looking at a bunch of her workmates in the break room, bitching about everything from the job through their partners and kids to That Bitch on the bus. It hit her that these were the Peaked in Highschool types who'd tried to make her life a misery and simply never changed. She considered her healthy relationships, well planned and flourishing career path out of this (admittedly shitty) job, stable financial position, personal satisfaction and happiness and thought...yeah, I won that one.

I was one hell of a parent 😁.
