I worked extensively with systems from Digital Equipment Corporation back in the 1980s, mostly on a PDP-11 and various VAXen. Surprisingly, that's where I first learned about wombats.
In elementary school, we had a thing where we read "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie" and then we had to make our own little books following that story. Mine was "If you Give a Wombat Sunscreen" because "wombat" was one of the funniest animals I could think of. Most other kids kind of phoned it in--easy animals like "If You Give a Dog a Cookie" or "If You Give a Mouse a Cupcake".
I'm still pretty proud of mine. The wombat ran around the world and ate lobster and all these other things. Also, I had no clue what a wombat was before I began my little book.

Things are going much better now, I have 2 part-time clients and looking for another. But for now, I'm making enough to cover my nut, so that's a good thing. And I'm still writing every day, which definitely keeps me in line, hee hee. Hope you are doing well too, my sweet friend. This winter of transition for the two of us has sucked ass! If you go hunting opals be sure to have your fossiking license and a field guide. Not to ID opals, more so you can tell the doctors at the emergency room what bit you and maybe they can keep yu alive.
