If we cant get along and we are all on the same side it seems pretty unlikely that different nations will ever be able to iron things out peacefully. This site is pretty liberal and even they are shitting all over the idea of pulling out of Syria. Trumps a complete idiot but he is the proverbial broken clock that is accidentally right twice a year. This time he;s right. Why not encourage it. It'll give him something to remember fondly sitting in jail.

I very much see Syria as a shades-of-gray situation--soon to have shades of red all over it. We were never really authorized to be there, but a lot has been accomplished. ISIS lost nearly all their taken territory.

The problem is that there are still about 30,000 ISIS members there and with us gone they can likely take it right back. Russia and Iran will be moving in if we leave an empty space. Worse of al,l our Kurd allies, who have done most of the fighting and lost a lot of soldiers, will likely be slaughtered by our Turkish "allies," who have wanted to do that for a while.

Add to that that no one else in the world should ever trust us if we leave the Kurds in the lurch and our foreign policy gets worse overall.

I hope the troops will stay or at least withdraw in an orderly fashion. The experts do not think Trump is doing the right thing:https://www.concordmonitor....
