Locally the same people who are complaining about the quality of schools are the same ones who are campaigning to lower property taxes. It's appalling to me that anyone would vote for them on that basis alone.

I don't think this specific case, as significant as it is, will be a good campaign issue just because it is not going to be well known by most voters. My comment was more about how the assault on women's rights (via the end of abortion and the closely followed assaults on a host of other women's healthcare), and the really terrifying assault on LGBTQ rights and other issues has, thus far, had virtually no push back from Democrats. So far, they aren't exactly a presenting much of a defense on either of these, much less the unequivocal, unapologetic and very uncompromising defense of these and other important issues.

I keep hoping that I'm wrong about a lot of this and that the Democratic leadership knows what it is doing. But, the past and too much of the present isn't instilling confidence that they do. I mean singing the praises of some of the worst people in the country like Pence and Cornyn and having the Speaker of the House trying to find "reasonable" Republicans isn't the message that the Democrats should be sending. That is my opinion, and, again, I hope I'm wrong.
