School is trying to avoid a stiuation where a student who takes offense decides the best response isn't "more speech" but a right cross to the wearer's jaw.

Or in cases past where students have worn shirts like "Bush is a terrorist", the teacher spends more time refereeing a shouting match between groups than they are teaching. That's why there is the "disruptive to the school environment" exception carved into the line of cases regarding school speech and expression going back to <em>Tinker</em>.

Why did his parents fail to prep him with faux righteousness that was, y'know, somewhat coherent? He comes across as anti-anti-bullying (and where are the out-of-context scriptural snippets?)...
