I drive the modern station wagon ... a minivan. And, while I'm not quite out to pasture yet, I have a cautious strategy to deal with the Baltimore beltway, which seems populated with SO many varieties of idiots. I just plod along in my big ole lump at 60 in the right lane. My lane slows? I slow. Pass? Not without good reason. Crazy people out there can go play with themselves. In short, not so much fun, IMHO.

BTW, you're lucky your car locks worked. In the mid-60s, kom went around a corner in the used 50s Ford sedan. Right rear door came open, and my younger brother (leaning on it) flew out and rolled nice and easy onto the small patch of park. Mom, shaken but game, picked him up, unhurt, and on we went. Those old cars didn't really have door locks ... or latches ... just things that pretended to latch. Be thankful for modern car safeties! :-)
