Yesterday, Axios reported that Facebook was reaching out to some groups in an effort to keep the social media giant from hemorrhaging any more trust, by which we mean money. Worried that they might be the catalyst for degrading public discourse, and to make it seem like Mark Zuckerberg actually gives a fuck, Facebook is bringing in a super powerful law firm and ... the Heritage Foundation.
All right. That won’t work. And we – those of us who are sensitive to this kind of thing – *know it won’t work.
But here are several hundred additional pages documenting – if they’re even serious about it, which I doubt for all sorts of reasons even if I didn’t just get done enumerating them elsewhere – why THEY should ALSO know it won’t … and, just like the Trump Misorganization and the Malevolent Maladministration, if they keep claiming it will, we’ll know they’re lying about it, and they’ll know we’ll know (and hopefully they’ll also know some of us will do everything we can to let others know they’re lying about it and should never be trusted with this kind of concern as well. Ever).
I have not heard about Sleeping Giants, but I would love any recommendations you might have concerning this stuff ... judging from what I wrote upthread about the extent to which I follow this stuff.
Oh Crazy, I wish it was a hoax that time. I think I caught it news of it on Wired, or a different tech internet site. My tryst spot of choice w/ this individual was quoted verbatim in front of me. If not made public, then hacked...And I hate Obsession for men, too.

What happened to "Freedombook" or "Reaganbook" or whatever they ended up calling that conservative only version of Facebook they were creating for themselves? Maybe they should give it another try since they're so in need of an online safe space.
I fixed the settings to not notify me of anything. I go look when I want to see the latest dog a friend is fostering, or finding a foster for, what someone else is grilling, and what the IRS doesn't want me to know.
Don't want it banned just all its minions to sport the mark (!) of the 'F' on their forehead so can avoid them (insert plague ref). Which will be fun in the house of mikka (proprietor not me)

I’ve just stopped going on it. Now it sends me texts whenever someone posts...like a needy ex. Regardless, I’m a lot happier without it...
