Jerry Falwell Jr. To Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez: I Didn't Threaten To Shoot Muslims, I Just Threatened To Shoot YOU!

False prophet Jerry Falwell Jr. has Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in his sights. Last week, during CPAC, Falwell threatened to shoot the congresswoman if she "came for his cows." For the record, Barack Obama was never going to take away people's guns and Ocasio-Cortez is not the Hamburglar. She has spoken about the need to address factory farming and perhaps reduce our meat consumption. Those are both fairly mainstream proposals to combat climate change. Only idiots would think Ocasio-Cortez wants to ban burgers. However, Falwell was on a panel with Donald Trump Jr., so there was idiocy to spare.

That's an odd way to apologize for publicly threatening the life of a House member. How is Vic Berger a liar? The video is right there. Falwell can't really dispute the shameful footage, so instead he just ignored it and made himself the victim. Yesterday, Ocasio-Cortez herself shared Bishop Talbert Swan's tweet that showed Falwell threatening to shoot Muslims. She mistakenly identified it as something stupid Falwell said at this year's CPAC, but it was actually something stupid he said during a 2015 speech at Liberty University. You can tell based on how horribly Falwell has aged in the past four years.

After the 2015 mass shooting in San Bernardino, California, Falwell urged his students to run around the Christian school's campus with concealed weapons. That's all very Jesus-y, we assume.

FALWELL JR.: If some of those people in that community center had what I have in my back pocket right now.... Is it illegal to pull it out? I don't know.

Yes, Falwell Jr. was apparently unclear on basic gun safety, which dictates that you don't casually whip out your penis substitute in front of a crowd of people. It's also callous and gross to suggest victims of a mass shooting could've prevented their own murders if they'd just been armed like some common John Wayne.

FALWELL JR.: I've always thought that if more good people had concealed-carry permits, then we could end those Muslims before they walked in and killed them.

Falwell Jr. clarified at the time that he didn't mean "all" Muslims just "those" Muslims, which is actually still pretty racist. Ocasio-Cortez ultimately had a compelling point about how Islamophobia is tolerated in society. Even if this example is from the distant past of 2015, it failed to dog Falwell Jr., who is a welcome guest at conservative functions.

The tweet mixup resulted in Falwell Jr. and his followers repeatedly calling Ocasio-Cortez "dumb and a liar." These people believe in bovine death panels but feel comfortable questioning a congresswoman's intelligence. Then just a few hours later, Falwell Jr. decided to show just how free-speech-embracing he is and invited the woman he threatened with bodily harm to come speak at his school. He's supposedly doing her a favor.

Why would she want to do this? What is this weird, pervy obsession conservative men have with "debating" liberal women they don't like, specifically the young attractive ones like Ocasio-Cortez? If Falwell Jr. had truly turned over a new leaf of tolerance, he could try to make Ocasio-Cortez feel welcome at Liberty University. Some rough ideas include sending her a fruit basket and perhaps defending her when his loony Twitter followers not-so-subtly suggest assassinating her.

See, Ocasio-Cortez is coming for your cows (she's not), so the Second Amendment says you can take up arms against her. Just like how you can commit treason against the United States if Yankees try to take away your slaves. We don't recommend her spending her free time with these people.
