"Maus," by Art Spegielman is a brilliant comic novel trilogy which describes Art Spegielmans father and mothers hiding underground from Nazi oppression, and ultimate internment in a concentration camp. The Maus series depicts the dehumanization, exploitation & extermination of millions of Jews. The events relayed by Art Spegielmans " Maus " trilogy effectively portray historical events and critically the exact means by which the Nazi Reich Operated. The similarities of the institutionalized, systemic oppression of the Nazis revealed by the " Maus " trilogy to the ICE Deportations without due process in direct violation of the US Constitution, is the key problem to those behind the draconian book purges. To these Christofascists, learning history itself is problematic. Margaret Atwoods " The Handmaid's Tale, " is a big problem because it questions the very values that the Heritage foundation is advocating.
