Well, they're all white cishet except for one sister-in-law, who's Indian (from Guyana), and her son who's not biologically related to my brother (his older sister lives in New York, I think). She finally figured out that the Republicans were not good people (never voted for tfg, to my knowledge, and I hope she never voted for DeathSentence). My other sister-in-law is a college professor in the state university(?) system and is worried about all the things you would think about. She and my brother have an adult child with special needs, and that's a concern.
I can visit (not racing to do so), but my kid and daughter-in-law (both trans) are afraid to, and I don't blame them. My husband probably doesn't really want to, not that he doesn't like my family, but he doesn't have my ties to the place.
So, yeah, I want that pustule's political career in flames so hot it's vaporized, and I want a blue wave to drown the remaining molecules and every other politician who's supported him.
These things always make me think of my sweetie's trans son and how these idiots would react if they looked at bearded, male-pattern baldness developing Sebastian's id and it said "Female". They'd lose their shit.
I was just reflecting on all of Trump’s claims of, “IF THEY CAN DO IT TO ME THEY CAN DO IT TO YOU!” seeking faux solidarity with your everyday asshole, and just how extremely unlikely that situation would be for anyone that wasn’t an irredeemable grifter and liar like Trump.
In this situation that statement is not only true, it is predictive of precisely what the fascists intend to do, target all of us.
Even the fascist adjacent won’t be safe, for how could anyone ever be sure that they are fascist enough?
