Oh Yay, another reason for stupid young men in Florida (who are now either crowded into shelters from Ian, or helping out old people getting back into their homes!!!), to continue being idiots and spreading Covid around.
My cousin and my Aunt who's house got really messed up in IAN,my cousin wouldn't get his vaccine. At least my aunt and my uncle got theirs before he died, because my Uncle had MS, but my cousin was living there and working as an in-house Chiropracter (arrgh) and then going back home to them every day. Now he's got another stupid reason not to get his vaccine. :( God I hate Florida!
Fun times. Wife has Covid - apparently since Friday or Saturday. Fortunately its a moderate case. She's got a crappy immune system, so I'm guessing her shots helped (2 shots + only one booster). But I (so far) don't have it (2 shots + 2 boosters). Lessons so far:
- Home tests aren't reliable, at least at the early stages- Boosting helps!- Get the new bivalent booster (and your flu shot) as soon as you can.- The public health system still sucks. Our deeply-red county has no answer for where to get tested other than "check the CDC website". Had to drive 40 minutes to the NEXT county to get us PCR-tested. The local hospital, which is owned by the facility in the next county that does the tests, stopped doing local tests for lack of demand.
Good thing Covid isn't real, or we'd all be REALLY fucked, eh?Grrrrrrrrrr............
