Where else would you put Jewish Space lasers, silly.

The best alien saucer story ever written is 'Chariot of the Globs' starring Fat Freddie's Cat.

It's every bit as believable as any other flying saucer story...and hilarious.

If you like that one, try 'I Led Nine Lives' or 'The Sacred Sands of Pootweet' or 'Animal Camp' or 'The War on the Cockroaches'.

Enjoy...

John Oliver has done a wonderful show about UFOs (which are probably NOT space aliens), in which he offered suggestions about how our government, at all levels, could talk about them more honestly and responsibly.

Alas, the executive officers she's bothering, demeaning, bullying, etc. are just presumably-good people trying to do their jobs, and normalizing what's she's doing is still terrible. But that's GOP, these days, if they're in Congress, they absolutely do NOT belong anywhere near power.

GOP: Because power doesn't corrupt fast enough by itself.

GOP: Greed, wrath, gluttony, sloth, envy, lust and arrogance, we're the whole dang package!

GOP: We're thinking of the children! Just... not in the good way.

GOP: We LOVE the Bible, so much of it is about us! Mostly warnings, granted, but still.

GOP: Everything you heard about us is true, but thankfully there's not enough hard evidence yet.

"Robbed" of talking points? One must remember GOP talking points are for driving their droolers to the polls and for snatching a few persuadable uncommiteds off the pile. As long as any talking point is successful in either of those 2 endeavors, it's robbery-proof. Any relation between reality and GOP blather is purely coincidental.

Also, people might not realize this but a lot of the "Aliens built this or that" is actually really really racist because people can't believe "those savages" built something so grand. So at least don't go there with the whole alien thing.

Whether or not UFOs are aliens or not, I do not know. I do not find it very likely myself, but, I suppose there is always an outside chance that hyper advanced beings who are able to traverse the void come here just to buzz us and leave behind grainy photos.

I, for one, do not believe our alien overlords really traveled thousands of light years to get here to do anal probes, but perhaps they walk among us (looks askance at Rep. Anna Paulina Luna of Our Church of Perpetual Lunacy).

The light speed barrier makes it impossible regardless of how advanced an alien culture is. Do I believe that life exists on other planets? I'd bet my life on it, but interstellar travel on that scale? Nah. And if anything, wouldn't we be running across a LOT of unmanned probes by now? How much junk will we have left on mars before we start sending people...

The problem lies in the fact that A.) Given the time-scale technologically advanced civilizations aren't guaranteed to exist at the same time in the same "neighborhood", B.) Any intelligent species is unlikely to advertise it's existence for fear of attracting conquerors or colonizers, C.) Any technological civilization significantly advanced enough to impact space-time to make interstellar travel feasible is likely to be self sufficient and invisible to our detection methods D.) It's dumb for us to even assume that an alien consciousness will operate the same, have developed the same, or is motivated for the same reasons.

I'm going to say it. Hot take:

If aliens broke Einstein's cage and visited Earth, they likely would do it more than once. They probably would visit more than the US, and perhaps even showed up before the US.

Ergo, to suggest that there is recovered evidence of aliens visiting Earth would have to involve a global conspiracy to not only hide the present, but perhaps hide the past. A conspiracy the scope of which would make your average tinfoil fashion afficionado blush.

And all that is almost notwithstanding Caballero's prediction that there are about 4 potentially hostile alien species in our milky way. Invasive species aren't usually subtle. If they visited, they'd have left their mark, one way or another.

As an aside but related, regarding "ancient aliens" nonsense - if you find it easier to believe that some aliens broke Einstein's cage than to believe that people of color built some amazing shit, you just might have some unexamined racism you should unpack. Just sayin'

Edit: Nothing in this post should be read as "I don't think aliens exist" - I don't know if they do. If they don't, seems an awful lot of wasted space. And also kind of egocentric in terms of humanity. But to say that they managed to turn the speed of light on its head and warp their happy asses across the galaxy is a whole different matter.

Granholm is a very serious, capable leader. So much so the usual Republican nonsense appears like parody she’s so impressive. I love Joe, but if age or health became too much to overcome and he decided to promote Harris or Mayor Pete for the gig, they are solid people. Granholm would also make a formidable candidate. I firmly support Joe, but the media narrative of “two bad choices” is very misleading and problematic. It’s also wildly irresponsible and foolish, knowing how dangerous a Trump 2.0 would be, particularly for the msm. The story should be, unless Joe Biden’s ability to perform proves questionable, age isn’t the problem. Trump is hardly the younger man, in any meaningful sense. His utter disregard for the law or even his own country and its citizens is the real issue. But the narrative is contributing to Biden’s approval, which in a sensible world would be strong, given his administration’s steady hand keeping the country running despite inheriting Covid and The Big Lie. Trump and the GOP have undermined Biden and their own government from the start, and that makes the achievements all the more remarkable.

It's still two bad choices, only one of them is much worse. Neither of them is a GOOD choice.

I think Biden, if fully healthy and competent, is a good choice. The problem is Father Time is undefeated. 81 is simply old. Joe is a healthy, active 81-year-old, but he’s also several years past the average lifespan of an American man. If Joe were 61, even 71, he’d mop the floor with Trump’s blonde wig. But he’s past the age most of us hope to retire…by 20 years for me. I really do like him and his administration is highly capable, but I’d have been fine with him deciding last fall that one term was fine, he’d done enough and he’d use the power of the White House to help elect his successor. Instead, we have to bite our nails wondering if anxiety about his age will result in a catastrophe and allow Trump to end democracy as we know it.

Biden has been quietly getting the job done. His team has done some amazing things, and cold have done more with a better congressional situation. He's not flashy, and for good or ill (I Believe ill) politics is now treated as reality TV by the masses.

Sen. Mike Lee (R-Lickspittle) was jeered earlier today when he pitched Trump to the libertarian convention. Trump retwatted Lee's Xpost that 'Trump knocked it out of the park tonight'. Lee then twatted: "Lots of what appeared to be paid agitators at the libertarian convention tonight.

From what I could tell, the overwhelming share of the actual libertarians in attendance were enthusiastic and supportive of Trump."
