The last two paragraphs really speak to the crux of this issue. Too many women lack the economic advantages their white, male counterparts have, and choosing to involve oneself with a person whose political choices directly impact your day-to-day life in a negative way is a serious consideration. The fact that most male acolytes of the Orange Shit-gibbon are emotionally violent, gun-toting, misogynistic nightmares is all I need to know abut conservatives when making dating choices. Politics is not a game when it's a toss up as to whether you'll be staring down the barrel of a gun at some point because your sweetie pie lost his ever-loving mind over an election, a sportsball game, or dinner some night.

Occasionally I'll do some extra-super-scientific research and the beautiful part is I can do it without leaving my bar stool. I just sit and make a mental note of the couples who come wandering into the bar and which ones came male first and which were female first. If it's male first you can be pretty sure he opened the door for himself (hopefully, he did hold it ajar while the old lady squeezed thru behind him) and they continued in like a squaw following her warrior. If the lady comes in first then the gentleman opened the door, allowed her to proceed and followed her through. The first scenario is classic MCP behavior and I'll guaran-gawdam-tee you that if you'd check his vehicle in the parking lot it has Trump stickers all over it. If it's the opposite he's a considerate liberal. Case closed and I hope you all appreciate the hours I put into research in bars to help you people out.

But with so many places nowadays having automatic doors the opening/not opening debate is becoming moot. It's like the "parking" discussion in ''Clueless": "What's the point, everywhere you go has valet."

Trumpettes are jerks.

I remember in 2016 the ridicule women received for being disappointed that Hillary Clinton lost the electoral college and not the vote total. We were all ridiculed for wanting something. For ourselves : representation.

We do not owe anyone anything.

Not our free labor time or diminishment to make jerks feel better.

Since women are the social safety net for america.

What's with this door holding thing? I hold the door for my fiancé' because it's the polite thing to do. I open her car door as well. She loves the old fashioned courtesy, but it doesn't mean she's inferior.

And I'm as liberal as you can get.

If she is a woman, she is a fiancée. Don't blame me, that's the French.

Also - male - divorcé , female - divorcéé.

P.S>: of course ALL of you can use what you want...

It could be said that liberal women are pulling a kind of targeted Lysistrata maneuver: Withhold unless the bozos come to their senses. (This implies they possess senses to come to in the first place, which I think is a stretch).

A. The brains to learn what they are doing wrong.

B. The moral courage to examine their own actions objectively.

both of which traits are not only signally absent from RQNJs but actively discouraged by them as being unmanly, feminine.

I'm kind of curious what these fine ladies' husbands do for a living. I know one of them was a 'reality TV star' whatever the fuck that is. They also have a million children so I assume he also blows billionaires to keep food on the table.

You forgot to mention these assholes are freaking DANGEROUS psychopaths who will stalk you, rape you, and even kill you if they don't get their way because they are out of control violent morons who worship a guy who proudly assaults women, stiffs contractors, and is facing 91 felony indictments. Oh, and most of them are incels who don't have jobs and live in their mamas' basements making violent threats to strangers on the internets. Why would you even want to KNOW any of these assholes let alone allow them to know where you live!

Speaking of people with money and status being immune from the political mayhem around them, including mayhem they helped create, Susan Sarandon comes to mind. In particular her idea that electing Trump was a much better idea than electing Hillary because things would get so bad everyone would flock to Bernie as their savior in 2020 and he would usher in a period of socialist nirvana.

Of course with her money and at her age she was immune to much of the damage Trump created and that will be with us for a generation thanks to his court appointments. With a 6-3 right wing court overturning Roe, ruling against unions, against voting rights, against discrimination remedies, and so much more that a 5-4 liberal court would have ruled on differently. With damage that may get much worse much faster if Trump wins in 2024.

I hope she has become "woke" enough to support Biden and not Trump, claiming Jill Stein will become the new American savior in 2028 by hoping Trump wins again and becomes a fascist dictator. Because with Trump in power again she might actually suffer because of her statements, despite her wealth, age, and popularity.

She and Cynthia Nixon are now supporting Hamas, to my non-surprise.

I NEVER liked either of them as actors, and still don't

The other day, Nixon was on Celebrity Jeopardy! and was easily the STUPIDEST CONTESTNAT EVER ON THAT SHOW.

I knew she was horrible in other ways already, but this coming a day after hearing about Hamas thing certainly explained that.

Some of these were so EASY (they dumb it down for the celebs) like one that a 5-year old in their first class about US history would know. From the time period, the correct response was about Lincoln, but she thought it was about Jackson - maybe because the latter is her fave president (before Trump) or she only knows presidents from money.

Susan I call Saranwrap. Cynthia, well the Nixon works for her.

I think the abject cluelessness of these people is perfectly exemplified by an interview Jordan Klepper did with an obese 60-somethingTrump-supporting man during the 2016 election. He was telling Klepper how bad Muslims were because of how they had "no respect for women" while wearing a t-shirt that read: "TRUMP THAT BITCH" (in reference to Hilary Clinton).

Klepper tried to tune the man in to this irony, but the guy only thought Klepper was complimenting him on his wit. He seemed to make no connection between the message of the shirt and what he had just said.

" ... the political is and always has been personal to those not wealthy enough to be shielded from the fallout of political decisions."

Bloody right. And the more constitutions and laws and safety regulations are passed to protect the vulnerable from just such fallout, the better. As Shaw observed in his preface to SAINT JOAN, Joan, like other village people in France, was pretty savvy about politics. They had to be. Politicians came charging through their fields and hacking down their doors with axes much too often.

Liberal men “want to split the check”? I take offense to that. My liberal wife works full time and we share her health insurance while I am self-employed and hope to retire early. So although it happens to be true that we make about the same amount of money, I’m doing everything I can to make her the sole breadwinner. I like it when she opens the door for me too. It’s a nice gesture.

Why would anyone want to marry some whiny, alpha-male-posturing, ill-mannered and worse-educated fool who can't stop prostrating himself before an authoritarian manchild whom he wants to serve perpetually and without question? What a recipe for a felicitous marriage!
