Back when Moonbeam was running for Gov again, somebody asked him (as he was getting in the chopper) "Why in the world are you going to go on O'Reilly?" And his reply was "Who wouldn't want to go on O'Reilly?"
How many times has a Fox host successfully (from the viewpoint of a neutral observer) demolished a progressive or academic guest? Occasionally. Sometimes folks just freeze up. But most of the time either the guest gets at least an obvious draw or win, or the host employs obvious bullshit to cut off discussion.
The thing to remember is that you are not attempting to change the minds of regular Fox viewers. They are a lost cause. But a medium-confrontational appearance on Fox will be replayed across a range of media. THOSE viewers are why you go on Fox.
So, for any Fox News robots monitoring the Wonket, here's a bit of religious knowledge.
Muslims (unlike me) believe in the actual existence of Jesus. They think he is the second-last (and second-best) prophet. A Muslim writing a book about Jesus is about as extraordinary as a Christian writing a book about John the Baptist, or Moses.
I understand that you are just reinforcing the prejudices of your viewing base, but you should be smarter than that.
HAHAHHAHHAHAHAHA did they mention that dude was an evangelical christian for several years and converted his mother to jesus? bet they didn't. bet they didn't note that not only has he academically studied their precious bible, he lived it.
god i hate these people.
(i heard the 'fresh air' interview - it (and the book) - fascinating.)
Green: You know, I liked you a lot better in The Chronicles of Narnia Aslan:Like I haven't heard that a million times; I'm a professor of religious studies.
This guy was pulling the Full Ginsberg, appearing on every show from Terry Gross to Pat Robertson. It's time somebody called him out! Thank you, Fox "News."
Clearly adherence to a religion whose holy book mentions Jesus more often than anyone else disqualifies a person from ever being able to learn about the guy, despite a lifetime of academic study.
I love how slowly and carefully he explains it, over and over. It's like he figured out right away the intellectual dimensions of the interview.
Jesus Christ.
People go on Fox because it generates press.

The only good stuff in the Bible is the stuff in red print (and not all of that).
It’s her Jesus not yours you dumb Muslim.
Probably something wrong with the lighting or the camera.

Dozens of rightwing nutjobs have written books about <strike>the horrors of</strike> Islam so turnabout is fair play.

Well, seeing as how the first three books about him were written by Jews, the fourth most likely by a Gentile, why not another by a Muslim?

I wonder why he didn't ask why so many wingnuts lately have felt justified writing about Muslins.
For our freedum, duh.
