As a lifelong citizen of the Midwest, it’s really strange to see Minneapolis be the focus of so much unrest and negative publicity because, for decades, while Detroit, Chicago, Cleveland, Milwaukee, Indianapolis and Cincinnati all routinely found their ways into the news for some bad reason or another, Minneapolis just kind of cruised along as the ideal big city that didn’t seem to have these issues.
Kind of shocking to see how that facade has peeled back so dramatically.
I live in Charleston, SC, which is always known to be a bucolic, small city. We had a BLM protest last summer, which I didn't think much about since I knew it would be small, and peaceful. My RWNJ neighbor called me to ask if I had made it through the "riot" in downtown Charleston. I thought he was delusional, until I read in the papers that we actually DID have a riot. It was so out of character for us that it made the national news.
I was kind of shocked, and also disappointed, since all the storeowners who had their windows smashed were saying "the Democratic mayor of Charleston is weak." I'm still shocked that it turned so violent, with one guy firing a gun, and groups of people trying to storm restaurants, where people were eating. Not a great way to win hearts and minds.
Say what you will, David, but the market rewards people who pioneer hot-or-not websites.
I think Brooks might be right about ugly people getting paid less, but it seems like a dumb comparison.
So he’s officially giving up on his political career in the GQP that rational observers could see was dead months ago. Good job, Mikey!
In fairness to Eric, he's got inherited ugliness.
It is true, and most white people perceive BIPOC folks as less attractive, so it’s doubly fucked if your are a person of color
Maybe we can import some expertise on that matter from China
Andrew Sullivan and David Brooks both just hit the derp bottom. We may have a derp singularity on our hands.
Jen is dressed to give Doocy a proper 'nurple' today.
Well, then let's forget about racial disparity...
Fuck off Bobo!

Imaginary defunding leads to imaginary spikes in crime
I wonder if the WH press corps is pissed because they had to start showing up for work regularly again after Biden was elected?

I prefer bicorns, which are the opposite of unicorns in that they only let the IMPURE ride them.
TRAITOR!
Can I throw Bobo in that cactus patch?
