As long as the phone consented I don't see a problem.

Unless Halperin did any of those things to you, you have nothing to forgive him for. Forgiveness can only come from those he harmed or offended.

So far, Smerconish is the only one having him on. His XM show is on when I'm driving to work.

I said the same thing to my therapist and I don't even have a penis.

I think that snide, “I’m happy to be judged by perfect people,” perfectly encapsulates Mark Halperin’s raging sense of entitlement. None of us is perfect. That doesn’t make his behavior any less disgusting.

I don’t have an answer for what the statute of limitations for these things should be, or how someone can try to rehabilitate a floundering career after bullying and assaulting multiple women. But this ain’t it.

My mom says: "I guess I can't say anything!"We retort, "I guess not!"

(But now, that I'm constantly misunderstood by my adult daughters, I kinda understand.)

I always felt it was never forget the people lost. I was watching this thing on the news about a school that had the students put a little flag on the lawn for each victim. These are kids who weren't alive on 9/11. They learned something. The kids put the flags next to a name, one boy said knowing this person's name keeps them from being forgotten. In NY people are still being buried.

An ex-good friend of mine wailed, "They attacked us! Here!"She felt that this was the ultimate affront.Kind of a "Pearl Harbor-ish" feeling.

I have lived in places that are not unfamiliar with violence, and the idea that the US could be attacked did not shatter me, but it did shatter others.

My forgiveness scale is actually pretty expansive and inclusive, and covers a wide variety of misunderstandings and misread signals. I'm more than happy to shrug and let things go, in all kinds of instances. Life is too unbearably short to freak out about every damn thing.

But my forgiveness scale does not include abuses of power, or things so obviously gross and ugly and sexually manipulative that there is no possibility that the guy didn't understand exactly what the hell he was doing and how unwanted most women would find it, or things that involve your believing that somehow, a guy's penis has inadvertently fallen out of his pants and appeared in his hand while you're having a conference..

Masturbating behind a desk, or shoving somebody against a window, or rubbing up against somebody who's pushing back and then telling her that if she doesn't go along she'll never work in the business again, do not, oddly enough, fall under the rubric of "oops, sorry, I guess I misread your signal there, hell's bells, oh well, like Joe E. Brown said, nobody's perfect."

I dunno. Those stories do so much to feed the dick jokes. It's a chicken and egg kinda situation.

And just think: Morning Joe was so, so itching to give it to him.
