Rumors of ICE and CBP actions in Oklahoma is having a negative impact on local businesses services. Many retailers are experiencing up to a 50% loss of revenue over the last 3 weeks because of fears of ICE/CBP detainment actions.
The shitty, unsanitary conditions are a feature, not a bug. People held at these centers report being constantly pressured to sign an agreement to be deported and take the “free flight” back to their home country. Or wherever the regime decides to send them.
The thinking goes if they make the conditions as hellish as possible, it will not only encourage people to agree to leave or just self-deport, it will also discourage people from coming here in the first place.
Also, remember that the Nazis didn’t start with gas chambers. The first stage in the final solution was to work and starve them to death is conditions not too dissimilar than what have been described in this regime’s camps. They only resorted to gassing them when people weren’t dying fast enough.
We’re probably six months to a year away from ICE goons sifting through piles of ashes for gold and silver fillings.
Not to give ICE ideas, but they would be better off buying up abandoned hotels since they already have the infrastructure for so many thousands of prisoners. Put bars over the windows, replace the doors with steel ones. Fill the room with five or six bunk beds. You wouldn't have to worry about overflowing septic systems or potable drinking water. So much less trouble. Of course there would be even less trouble if ICE stopped disappearing thousands of people every day.
You don’t need a lot of fiscal or city planning to understand how these will be a nightmare beyond the cruel and inhumane treatment of people. The city and county where they will build out do not have enough water supply for such much less housing for the people who will be there to torture “illegals”.
So lessee…the sewage line to a warehouse is probably 6”. Which would cover the 10 or 12 people working there as a warehouse, and MAYBE the staff when it’s a prison. So aside from updating the line all the way to the local sewage plant then doubling the size of the plant (because its sized for the existing community), or building one themselves, the 10,000 inmates are going to be shitting in Porta-potties. Problem solved!

If the private companies get contracts anything like the REGULAR prison system, they'll have baked in profits, paid by the government, even if the prisons are empty. How do they convince governements to sign those horrible contracts? Kickbacks to the bureaucrats in charge.

These are warehouses that are designed to house goods, not people, which means that there are only a handful of bathrooms and maybe an efficiency kitchen. Also, the modern warehouse is designed to store items vertically and have 24'+ ceilings, which makes creating even cubicles difficult. These warehouses also usually do not have much heating or cooling. It is typical in NH to not heat your warehouse in winter, and they usually have air-filled fire suppression systems that are designed to handle really cold temperatures. Finally there are almost no windows in these buildings, and many lack outdoors space for exercise, etc. Stupid, just stupid.
