Fortunately, my own life keeps me grounded and sane. Wonkette's gifted writers and quite a number of my fellow non commenters are a part of that, work serving the underserved (HIV+ adults in The South Bronx) is a small part of it, but having a life I love with the man I love in two places I love (the temperate rain forest in the Catskills and the East Village of NYC) is what keeps me healthy, happy, and whole. I'm not at all a "let the world burn as long as I'm okay" person. I care truly and deeply about SO many people, places, and things on this beautiful planet.
I wish I could get to the timeline where Kamala Harris is Madam President and bring all you lovely people along, but that technology is not in my possession.
Pity the DC cops didn't have to remove a genetic Moose from the offices. That would have been hilariously funny to watch. All due respect to Mr. George Moose, who I believe is a perfectly decent human being in the absence of evidence to the contrary.
In many commentary spaces people have asked, "Why don't they just refuse to leave?" and this is the answer: "Because people in uniforms with badges and guns show up and tell you "Leave, or we arrest you. Resist, and we shoot you."
We (and by we, I mean our elected invertebrates) had the chance to strengthen our institutions after the last Trump reign, and didn't. So I have to assume incompetence and malice are what both parties want in a federal government, and everything is running absofuckinglutely as planned. So really, there's no reason to complain or be surprised. Nor to expect it to ever get better than this. Like with climate change, this is our new normal.
Protests to erupt at local post offices across the country to try to protect or at least draw the nation's attention to Trump administration's plans to seize control of USPS and wreck it. It is supposed to be independent of the executive branch. I think Trump fired the USPS Board?
Well, it's not smart to invade someone who'd shoot back! Duh!
Ta, Dok. It gets worse and crazier by the day.

Many cops lurv Mr. Trump and his dominion.
I love that Judge. And yes, I remember her from the January 6th scum trials, too.
do you think the current crop of federal law enforcement *realize* that they’re the Gestapo and/or Gruenpolizei?
Yes and it stiffens their Li’l Smokies when they get to pull shit like this. Same goes for ICE agents.
With all this shutting down of departments, tump may have to declare a state of emergency ‼️
DOGE apparently thinks public and private buildings are all accessible to them.
wish people would start pronouncing it correctly. it's "dod-gee," not "dough-juh."
I pronounce it like "dog" but with a long O. The symbol is a dog, after all.
i’m aware of how fond hannity was of saying “dodgy dossier.” i’d like people saying “dodgy department.”
That’s some Susan Collins-level concern from the judge there so far…hopefully she’ll pull her head out of her ass.
Furrowed brow ass.
Just say it, "DOGE is a terrorist group"
If one person, just one person does it, it will give folks pause to think.
And if two people, two people do it—in harmony—people might consider that it's a real possibility.
And three people do it—three, can you imagine?—three people calling out "DOGE is a terrorist group"?—they may think it's an organization!
…And can you—can you imagine fifty people a day—I said fifty people a day!—telling god and the internets that "DOGE is a terrorist group"?
And friends, they may think it's a movement! A movement to shut down this terrorist group and throw them all in jail.
and all you got to do to join is start telling folks that "DOGE is a terrorist group"
The Institute of Peace Anti-Douche Movement! Sing it the next time it comes around on the gitar! With feeling…
I’ll use that slogan on my sign for the April 5th protests.
No fighting in the war room!
If the courts won't defend us, we are truly screwed.

If DOGE wasn't in a rush and over-gunned then it wouldn't be a proper blitzkrieg, now would it?
Didn't SCOTUS say Trump has God powers only when no other branch of government is involved?

Lots of links out there, here's one: https://www.wdio.com/front-page/top-stories/u-s-postal-service-will-be-hosting-rallies-across-the-country/
I think "pressured" is a little too nice, no? It was really extortion, IMO.
