I lucked into buying a real analog, solid state stereo amplifier (Standard) on Ebay several years ago to go along with my (barely) digital AM/FM tuner and modular singular cassette deck--the man sold it (the amp) to me essentially for the cost to ship it--and now I have a USB turntable but still looking for a proper CD player. I reject the entire concept of "Hi Def Audio" b/c I know there is really no such thing. Digital sound pushed through analog equipment=priceless.

I'm a creator rather than a listener. I have a RAMSA DA-7 mixer, which has discreet analog preamps (I also have outboard pres for added yummyness) but connects to my RME Audio 9652 through light-pipe (ADAT) connectors . I love the setup, with the one caveat that light-pipe can't handle anything higher than 48k. Not that I've ever really NEEDED anything higher than that (that's above CD quality...), just would be a nice to have.
