I watched the Brown presser last night. The chief of police was careful to say the FBI was helping and "investigations change directions." I think if my memory is right, a reporter asked about the FBI fuckup, but again, the mayor, the chief and the governor walked carefully.
I imagine a lot of cussing was involved. The local FBI Special Agent at the presser (who of course had nothing to do with Patel's nonsense) looked embarrassed, I felt for him.
Firing people reflects on him. When his hires are incompetent it reflects only on THEM. So he will let the fires burn and simply deny that anything is wrong.
I like how Patel threw the local police under the bus. It wasn’t his error, you see. He really did think they had the shooter, even if they were just questioning an innocent person. And surely this poor soul and the wrongly accused Kirk shooter were totally fine after and suffered no consequences.
Which bar did Patel pass? Because I too have passed many bars: The Plough and Stars, The ECL, Cinnabar, Original Joe's (which is actually a restaurant, but they have a great bar as well), The Tonga Room, and many, many others. *hic*

This is our tough on crime POTUS; mass roundups of brown skinned people for being the worst of the worst criminals -- even those with no criminal record here or their home country -- but won't even entertain the idea of curtailing gun violence because... 2A.
