Since 1930s the minimum wage has prevented the U S economy from growing. That is why libertarian Somlia's economy is the envy of the world

Doug Ross has really turned mean since his days in the ER.

RAINER: Would you support the Obama act of raising the federal minimum wage?

ROSS: No. [...] I think it would do more harm to our economy than anything.
Because fast food is the foundation of our economy. If anything were enacted that hurt that industry it would tank the whole country.

We need to continue to increase our support for fast food, because it is in such a fragile state today that any minuscule change in its profit picture will bring the whole industry down. And then where would we be?

"If the government’s going to tell me how much I can get paid and when I can work and when I can’t work, then we have a serious problem in this country."

Congressman Ross would never allow the government to tell him how much he can earn and when he can work, so why would he permit it to tell us the same thing?

Yeah - the problem is twits like you longing for the days when you could work a man 16 hours a day, pay him a pittance, and fire him for failing to properly grovel that he got anything at all.

Repeal the 8-hour workday! Repeal paid overtime! Quick, close down OSHA and the OEO before the economy goes completely down the toilet!

I swear, the only reason the GOP has not tried to repeal child labor laws is that children don't vote. So why try to alienate them?

If we are going to make it a living wage, who’s going to pay for it? Who’s going to pay for it?

How 'bout we simply reduce CEO salaries (e.g. Jamie Dimon's $$$gazillion) to pay for it? (You, Rep Ross, and your GOP cohorts can simply suck 'em off a few more times each year and they'll never know the difference.)
