Here is the law that should have been passed after Trump tried this last time: False electors receive the death penalty, candidates represented by false electors receive the death penalty, and campaign staff for candidates represented by the false electors receive the death penalty, unless the candidate concedes the election.
I have a modicum of hope about this aspect of it, too, because:
1. T***p is not in office any more, and has much less power than he had in 2020, AND he's much less popular, AND this time we're prepared for shenanigans.
2. The GOP is already in chaos. If T***p looks like a loser, he will immediately turn on everyone around him, as he has on every single occasion in the past when he didn't get his way handed to him (remember "Hang Mike Pence"), and then they'll descend into savaging each other.
3. Since 2000 or so, the Dems have seemed to be under the mistaken impression that the rules are still in place, and if we just set a shining example, and state our case clearly and reasonably *enough*, the bullies will come around and play fair. VP Harris is under no such illusion. Maybe she's said to a few key players that if they even THINK of trying to pull some stunt, they'll be under the jailhouse so fast it will make their goddamn head spin. Maybe she's spent some of that billion on an army of lawyers to game out every possibility and is just disinclined to show her hand. She and her team are very good at thinking three or four moves ahead, and basically... "You're not dealing with Joe NOW, motherfuckers."
Just talked with a friend in the National Guard. We are in a far western state (Not Texas, because as every U.S. map plainly shows Texas is in the Midwest, dammit! ) and he will be deployed to D.C. for the Inauguration.
I don't think people are going to have the patience for this bullshit this time around...the first time around four years ago these motherfuckers had the element of surprise on their side. they do NOT have that this time
The problem for people like Voyles is they have no idea of the security precautions the people actually running the election have put in place to prevent fraud. And they have no desire to actually learn anything, preferring to listen to people just as illiterate about ballot security as they are. Including post election audits, sample recounts, and investigations of credible voting fraud. By the next day the state board of elections showed I had voted early and my ballot was accepted. So it would be easy to tell if I had also sent a mail in ballot. Most of the fraud identified are by Republicans who submit a second ballot for a dead spouse or an adult child, or try to vote in two or more states for federal office. A side benefit for the right wing fraudsters about hand counts is to delay reporting results, probably falsify the count, and tell how individuals voted so they can harass them.
"I think... I have a theory... " It is OK to have the concept of an idea... until there is a real judge in a real courtroom who can ruin your day if you try and fuck with him. Rule of law includes rules of evidence, dunce.
They have a lot of deference since they are representatives of those who have always had rights in America. So it's perfectly fine for them to still sit in these critical seats.

TBF, the entire Michigan GOP is one big steaming dumpster fire, so it’s unlikely they could have found any electors who weren’t garbage humans.
It’s therapeutic and part of their community service that the fake electors be required to certify Harris. It’s healthy.
