"Felix, Oscar's sick. He's my friend. And I'm a Police man!" -- Officer Murray Greshler.

"Murray, I don't have the time to unravel your logic!" -- Felix Unger

"The Odd Couple."

Remember that November 13th was "Odd Couple Day."

As it opened, "On November 13th, Felix Unger was asked to remove himself from his place of residence. That request came from his wife..."

The right has also been running ads saying that Issue 1 negates parental notification. It does not. Issue 1 does not address parental notification, and the current law covering PN/Judicial review remains in place.

BTW: Yes on 1, Yes on 2.

Mike DeWine is all, ‘save me from my own ban. I really didn’t mean to sign this thing into law. If you all will vote against my bad actions, I’’m sure we can reach a reasonable compromise later.’

As. If! DeWine. You really think the voters in Ohio are that stupid? Well, they are, since they elect dim lights like you and Gym Jordan. But c’mon now.

Our state voted abortion rights into our state constitution last year. Such a huge victory for people who need access to care. If it failed, the original 1931 ban could have been the law, which notably offered no exceptions. Not for rape, incest, or the health or life of the mother (or unborn child). People do not want politicians forcing them into unwanted or dangerous pregnancies, or for punishing them for having sex for anything other than procreation.

Trusting republicans to make a deal with you on abortion later if you give up your power to legalize abortion now requires an embarrassing amount of stupidity. Republican politicians have always counted on it.

Aww, I was sort of hoping the "wizard" link would go to this one:

As an aside, I see YouTube and AdBlock are still battling it out -- one day I can watch videos with no problem, the next I keep getting prompted to whitelist YT. I really don't want to give up YT, but forcing me to watch stupid ads I'm not interested in is definitely pushing me in that direction.

Dewine: "If we’re able to defeat this, then I think we can come together as a state and find a place where a majority of Ohioans can, in fact, agree[.]"

/Quote

Ahem -- I know representative democracy is something you Republicans struggle with, but if it passes, then that is, in fact a place where the majority of Ohioans agree, **by definition**. Unless, of course, you manage to suppress the voter turnout to the point where considerably less than a majority of Ohioans vote, but then, that's on y'all.

Don’t know if others have posted already but I couldn’t have laughed any louder than when I heard this on John Oliver. A group plans to open a clinic named “The Samuel Alito’s Mom’s Satanic Abortion Clinic.”

Perhaps all prescriptions for Viagra should be subject to review by somebody who hate Viagra.

Not too bad unless they're electric candles plugged into a socket. That can end, period.

"which includes exceptions for rape, incest, and the life of the mother"

ah cool. so women only have bodily autonomy if someone uses violence against them first? that seems pretty 'radical' to me.

Question for DeWhine: So, you think all women's decisions about needing an abortion must be reviewed by the State? What other women's decisions should require State approval?

I think we need to push the State as decision maker right down their throats. Freedom, my ass!

Liked your comment, but another question that should be asked of him and all these assholes, is "what healthcare related decisions for men should be decided by the state?" My guess is that would be a big fat nada, nothing, bupkis.

What he appears to think but hasn't said outright is that we little ladies are simply far too muddle-headed to make reasonable decisions about our own health and bodies. And surely our minds will change the moment we hold that squirming bundle of babby in our arms, even if its daddy was also our very own daddy. As for the nefarious doctors who would decide alongsi- er, for us? They just want to make that sweet sweet blood money, cause everyone knows abortions are SO much more profitable than childbirth. And if a greedy doctor wants to kill your baby for money, well, let's just say you probably won't see them in church on Sunday. Maybe Saturday evening if you get my drift.

Ohio Abortion Gestapo would be the reviewing entity. A new form of "papers please" law.

I'm surprised I didn't see any of the latest Luntz-ism pushed by either Youngkin or DeWine - that instead of using the word "ban" for what they want to do to abortion, using the word "limits" Supposedly the thinking is that fewer people will object to "limits" on abortion than they would "bans".

Of course, like DeSaster down here in Florida, a 15-week "limit" could easily turn into a six-week "ban"
